Been single for going on 6 years now and this is spot on. I just stay on the sidelines and watch my co-workers complain about their choice in shitty partners or just scroll through my Facebook feed seeing relationships crumble to the ground because one of the two cheated or the “spark” fizzled out 🤷🏼‍♂️

I swear, this sort of mentality may be more prevalent that I originally thought. Men and women judging their entire value on whether or not they are in a relationship, unable to function unless they can be outside holding hands with their boy/girlfriend. Being able to bring "someone" to a wedding or party seems to increase the value of a man or woman in the eyes of others and they make for cute social media pictures.

And when the boys are single, they scour through Tinder and begin flirting with every girl they meet.

Why? Two out of three of my closest friends' marriages have fallen apart. One didn't even last a month after the wedding and both of them went through bouts of depression after.

I just do what everyone else does - minus the neurotic bimbo + bratty kids. Children are so overrated anyway. The only reason I ever got into relationships is because everyone else was doing it.

Now, I genuinely can’t see the point, unless you count good conversation and sex on-tap as a worthwhile replacement for infinite freedom to do anything I want. No thanks, I enjoy being able to be myself and have a full, uninterrupted day of productivity and fun.

I ride my bike for 20 miles because I felt like it. I went to the state park all day because I felt like It. I spent all my expendable money on my hobby because I felt like it and already took care of my (relatively) minor expenses compared to an engaged person with a house and kids.
