Ok so I decided to look at the Jezebel post and the statistics they were throwing around (compiled by an organization that gets funding based on discrimination.)

Here is the funniest thing I found.

Here is the bullet point:

Even when women make the same career choices as men, they are paid less: A 2003 GAO study concluded that even after accounting for "choices" such as work patterns and education, women are paid an average of 80 cents for every dollar paid to men.

So I decided to look at the cited GAO report. The title of the report:

Work Patterns Partially Explain Difference between Men’s and Women’s Earnings

And here is the summary of the conclusion:

According to experts and the literature, women are more likely than men to have primary responsibility for family, and as a result, working women with family responsibilities must make a variety of decisions to manage these responsibilities. For example, these decisions may include what types of jobs women choose as well as decisions they make about how, when, and where they do their work. These decisions may have specific consequences for their career advancement or earnings. However, debate exists whether these decisions are freely made or influenced by discrimination in society or in the workplace.

I know, no surprise. I just think it's funny that they would so zealously twist a report to match their ideology even when it objectively is against the argument they are making. All in all, the claim that women earn 80 cents for every dollar being supported by the study is an out and out lie.

There is no gender pay gap. It's nothing compared to racial pay gaps. Nothing. Look at what union meat cutters used to make and look at what the Illegals doing the work now get paid.
