Once feminists realize that they can't ignore the data refuting the 2% false rape allegation statistic they'll simply claim that women make false claims because patriarchy. They'll never accept responsibility for wrongdoing for so many women. They'll come up with a list of excuses justifying those claims until they can get that number back down to a reasonable number of 'bad apples' (ie. 2%). All those other claims will be justified for one reason or another.

When I hear FALSE RAPE ACCUSATION I think of someone saying they were raped when they were in fact not.

This article has very little to NOTHING to do with that. This is about a woman being raped and the wrong man being convicted.

I think the outrage expressed here should be about the terrible track record of eye-witnesses and other parts of the judicial process that result in the wrong person being convicted.

Thank goodness DNA evidence exists.

This data is simply infuriating. I really hope that we get equally strict consequences for false accusations at some point. In some ways, a false accusation can be even more damaging to someone's life in the long-term.

every year since 1989 (written in 1996 = 7 yrs) in about 25% of sexual assault cases submitted to the FBI, where results could be obtained, the primary suspect has been excluded by forensic DNA testing. FBI officials reported that, out of approximately 10,000 sex assault cases submitted since 1989, some 2000 tests (20%) have excluded the primary suspect, and 2000 (20%) more were “inconclusive”.

According to the FBI a terrifying number of men are in jail for rapes they didn't commit based on statistics and lab results.

According to feminists this never happens because something something Patriarchy.

Why do we (as a society) believe the latter over the former!?!?!?

95% of Rapes result in no convictions. It's a hard crime to police. It's especially hard because women often refuse to even attempt to get justice. But I mean, what's the point? If you're just going to be ignored, insulted and, very possibly, get called a liar, I certainly wouldn't bother accusing anyone of Rape. No matter what they did.
