God, the feminist hijack of that is so bad. So bad. Not because it's just biased towards feminism or whatever, but because any articles relating to any opposition of feminist ideals are horribly-written un-sourced garbage! As far away from 'rational' as you can get!

Seriously, the pro-life page includes such headings as "Racism?" (no sources), "My abortion is ethical, all the others aren't" (purely anecdotal sources), "Direction action" [read: terrorism] (no sources, doesn't even explain who the terrorists are), and "Irony" (no sources related to pro-life positions). The rest of the article is an actually well-written piece on the religious grounds, and two unsourced paragraphs about about how pro-lifers are usually conservatives and therefore evil (yes, really, that's what they're saying).

Point being: RationalWiki is pretty good normally, but completely falls apart when it comes to feminist articles.

"Atheism+" Is literally, I believe, an attempt to make atheists into feminists by saying how much more they can be. "We are atheists plus we care about social justice. We are atheists plus we care about women's rights." It's feminism disguised as atheism and by all means, it is disgusting.

As a member of the atheist community and this one I can assure you that this "Atheism+" B.S. isn't taken seriously by the community at large. While there may be some feminist that are atheist , most of the atheist I know would say they are for "gender equality." I do realize that may be considered a cop out or "sitting the fence" by some but most atheist on a whole view religion as a larger problem at this current time. If you have any more questions it is my off day and I'll be online if wish to discuss this more.

Feminists try to co-opt everything. They see other movements as opportunities to further their own agenda. If they are "let in", so to speak, they change everything to be about them. This is how they have invaded atheism, the occupy movement, the gaming/rpg community, anime/manga/comic cons, the IT community (ie. donglegate), etc. Nowadays the lives of these communities are not about atheism/anime/comics/etc. but about how the community is "hostile" towards women, sexism, rape, etc. Fuck all this. Don't let them in or kick them out.

I basically agree with you. It has been hijacked with whiners. I think the reason is because the earliest years of online atheist discussion and activism did a lot to spread awareness of what atheism is and what it means.

The whiners saw this and wanted a piece of the action. They see their position not only as being the only logically sound position to take, but also as being infallible, which is why people like Anita Sarkeesian don't allow discussion on their videos.

The online feminist movement as a whole decries dissent within its ranks, and ignores any outside criticism. It really just is one big sewing circle.

The MRA, from what I've seen, does not do this. They allow discussion, they don't delete comments en-masse (of course individuals can decide to do so if someone is heavily trolling) and they don't go out of their way to goad people into fights.

In fact I'd say you could equate the MRA with atheism, and the anti-MRA with atheism+ ... it seems to be that the atheists have split off into two camps. Those who buy the "feminism means equality for all sexes" argument, and those who think it is bullshit.

As I just came out as an athiest, this bugs the hell out of me. It's like "god" has been replaced with "the patriarchy." The Amazing Athiest and Thunderf00t are the few of us openly standing up to this bullshit, although GWW and John the other do stand out they are more MRA's in most peoples mind.

That being said, we're more resilient that most communities, mostly because atheism plus is trying to expand their community within the small atheist community. We hate ideology so we can smell it from a mile away.

Yeah, there is that Atheism+ thing, but ultimately it isn't going to affect atheists at large, because feminism is a religion.

I have been banned from one of these skeptic facebook groups. And they call themselves skeptic, while pandering to their base desires of becoming white knights without giving the reality a second chance to change their minds.

Yes the atheist and skeptic communities. They don't see what's happening to because they can't see anything wrong with feminism. So they have to try and understand it in different terms. They just can't comprehend that the real issue isn't sexual harassment or people being PC or whatever, but that there's a group of people deliberately trying to fuck them and essentially blackmail them so as to grab power over those movements, and those people are called feminists.

Until they see the enemy they are hopelessly fucked.

It was bound to happen. Most atheists like to think of themselves as some enlightened person who's ahead of the curve, but they don't actually do their own research. They just gobble up everything they've been fed by other atheists (just look at 4chan trolling /r/atheism with Hitler quotes). It was only a matter of time until they fell for the feminist definition, rather than defining feminism for themselves.

As for how I feel about it. It sucks, big time. I mean I stopped being part of the atheist movement a long time ago, back when they were becoming militant. But I still feel bad because they're going to disintegrate after feminism is through with them. I was really hoping there would be a new movement where atheists could hang out together and not actually sit there constantly discussing religion or how much better they are than everyone else, but c'est la vie.

The people that matter in the skeptic movement (a necessity to counter religious influence in society and law) are not the A+theism clowns. Dawkins, Harris et al. haven't been fooled by the feminist dogma.

I think it was a good development that elevatorgate weeded out the people whose atheism depends on their belief in patriarchy from the actual skeptics.

To be fair, Atheism+ is going downhill these days. Jen McCreight (who first issued the call for SJW-Atheism) has even more-or-less left the Atheist/Skeptic community, and there's a huge and consistent backlash from the majority of atheists and skeptics.

A+ was really just a fringe movement composed of one forum and FreeThoughtBlogs. It generated a lot of screeching but it is a small group of people and is not growing due to massive internal temper-tantrums.

The atheist community has for the most part rebuked the attempted hijack.

It makes sense that there would be an overlap between outspoken atheists and feminists. Religion has done quite a lot to actively oppress women, and continues to do so today.
