The MRA doesn't have a religion like feminism has, there are no weird theories that blame everything on women. There is a difference between a group perpetuating something and a person perpetuating something.

Example: Rather than saying feminists are anti-male, you could say major feminist organizations have proven to be anti-male. You can this support this with examples. You can point out what individual feminists have done such as the Duluth model.

If someone wants to similarly point to actions of major men’s rights organizations, fine.

I see myself as a man. I don´t represent any kind of movement. But there is a movement with the clear intent of segregate men, which is called feminism. Feminism has layers. Has different kinds of ideologies, though, light or heavy, all share something in common: the attack against the opposite genre. In that fase, I don´t care which kind of feminist I am dealing with. There is enough information for an adult woman to know what feminism is about. Be her an extreme misandrist or simply a good woman who was brainwashed to think that men are the dangerous enemy that beats and rapes women because they are women. If I am a man, and there is a movement who clearly tries to destroy men, then, I generalize. The woman who leaves feminism as soon as she finds out what that radical movement is, I consider my friend.

I always generalize feminists to be people who willingly associate with the feminist hate movement.

This is 100% true of all of them.

Feminists generalize MRAs to be pedophiles and rapists.

Don't bother arguing with feminists. You won't change their mind like that and will just be wasting time you actually be putting into being an MRA and doing some good for men & children.

I generally try not to call them feminists. I call them misandrist or misandrist feminists. You don't lose much because 99.999% of feminists are misandrists anyway, but you're no longer generalizing and condemning that 0.001% that's not a misandrist (e.g. Christina Hoiff Sommers)

If someone wants to go on a rant about MRAs who hate women, depending on the content of their rant I'll either denounce them and say exceptionally few MRAs hold these views or say that these are common conservative views and in my experience MRAs are evenly split between conservative and liberals much likes the rest of the population. As an egalitarian liberal, I tend not to mind concerning anti-egalitarian conservative ideologies, but I will refute any claim that these a a fair representation of MRAs in general.

In terms of double standards, I sometimes do condemn posts that seem anti-egalitarian on this subreddit and often end up getting downvoted for it. I'm also prepared to distance myself from and condemn this subreddit altogether if I end up considering it a lost cause in terms of furthering egalitarian goals.

I would expect feminists (who claim to act based egalitarian principles) to similarly fight back against the misandrists in their ranks. Those that do not, I generally consider are just secret misandrists who don't want to be "out" about it.

I don't believe anybody should be generalized. Whether an MRA or a feminist, but that you acknowledge the problem is one step in the right direction to solving it.

Whenever I'm in an argument with a feminist I tend to generalize them. I also tend to call them out when they generalize MRAs and men. This is blatant hypocrisy, even when I point out feminists don't call out members of the movement who say misandrist things or perpetuate systemic misandry like the Duluth Model and the CDC not acknowledging envelopment as rape, this could easily also apply to MRAs and men. How do I handle this dilemma?

feminist here 😊 to me, feminism isn't just about rights for women, its also about men! I think the definition of feminism differs from person to person, as to me I define it as equity for genders, instead of equally for women. Remind yourself that not all feminist are raging, hardcore man-haters (I know it may seem like thay online, but honestly it's not that way IRL). Keep in mind everyone has their own view points, whether they align with yours or not; if you dont like their views, just dont engage with them if possible, or steer clear from any controversial topics with them. More than half the people that identify as feminists couldn't even tell you what the duluth model is. Hard to blame them for supporting something they've never even heard of.

It doesn't make sense to generalize feminists or MRAs but people so badly want to do it because it allows you to make 'your side' look better. It's the same reason you'll see posts from MRAs being sexist on againstmensrights and they act like it's everybody.

Or when you see a tweet from one person who may or may not even be a feminist and everyone blames every feminist.

It's blatant hypocrisy but most people are so concerned with proving their right they don't see it.

I kinda have an idea. When feminist get mad that you generalize them and they do something like the "no true scottsman" fallacy, and justify themselves here"s what i would do.

"If you want me to join feminism or stop making it look bad, you're basically asking me to join a group with (insert horrible big feminist like matt binder, nomiki konst, Sarah palin, big red, trigglypuff, those feminist that accidentally made jordan peterson famous because they were bullying him, and feminist who disrupted men's issues confrensess). Why would I join a group that led up to thier behavior"? Or

"Name me good feminists, i'll name a bunch of horrible feminist right back at ya".
