I have worked for a corporation for years. I've struggled with advancing there despite having a great performance record, nearly a decade of dedication and bringing in a lot of money for them. The company has a program (pretty much a company wide club) to help women who feel they're in the same type of situation as me (performing well but not advancing) where they can get everything from minor advice, counseling and even one on one extensive training to help them advance. Also every woman within in this program is encouraged to look for more women to sign up for the program. So if a women is trained to become a manager she is encouraged to look for other women to be trained to become managers. As a man I do not qualify for this program. It would, understandably, not be all right for the company to have a similar program just for men. How is ok to do this for women?
