I don’t understand why sexual assault cannot be gender-inclusive these days, why is it still seen as a women’s problem?

There are many statistics on how it impacts people. There are various levels of risk based on being BIPOC, age, social class, workplace. Gender is just one of those statistics.

Sexual assault involves any kind of violation to a human’s body such that bodily autonomy is not respected which results in harm (physical or psychological). It just falls into the realm of what can be deemed sexual for it to be sexual assault.

It has nothing to do with body parts, sexual touching without consent is already sexual assault.

Why then can’t this issue be seen as a human issue. Rather than keep being marketed as something that impacts women.

I get that it impacts women. I get that it impacts them disproportionately than men (from a binary gender model, mind you, so this rhetoric doesn’t even account for the whole gender identity spectrum). But I don’t see what women lose if this topic can get a broader scope of representation for all humans. Start being seen as just another crime that people commit that can happen anyone.
