You need a lot of experience with women to be a misogynist. You can't be one if you've never had at least a few relationships with women. In today's society becoming a misogynist isn't really that strange if you have bad luck with women. Not talking about Elliot Rodger bad luck who by the way wasn't a misogynist, but being fleeced a couple of times through divorce settlements, paying tons of alimony and child support to several women.

Sometimes that happens to a man and he might become a misogynist. It's not unexpected to see this kind of visceral reaction. Women who are gang raped sometimes end up as misandrists.

Now neither are right in their hate, but do we really need to shun them for it? I don't get why the kind of understanding misandrist women get who have been subject to traumatic experiences aren't afforded to misogynist men.

We might be critical of feminism but that doesn't mean we hate women, quite the opposite in fact. Sure you'll find the odd person or two but they tend to get down voted and called out on it.

We advocate equal rights for all people. In society today however, most of the focus is on equal rights for women, so men's issues are left in the dark. Because of this, our main focus is men's issues, but we believe that women issues are equally important.

Well, that all depends. If you define "misogynist" as "hatred of women", then no we are not -- quite the opposite, in fact.

But if you define misogyny as "disagreeing with radical feminists on issues, and not cowed by their childish silencing tactics which include calling people who disagree with them 'misogynists'" (which too many people do), then yes, we are.

It's all about perspective.

The popular attitude seems to be that the MRM is a collection of whiny, privileged, woman-hating, ignorant white men who advocate violence against women and believe that any advancement of women in society is a detriment to themselves.

The reality is that we are people (men and women) who believe that there are legitimate inequalities and injustices that are uniquely faced by men -- of all races, ages, sexual orientations, etc. -- that are either not addressed or made worse by the predominant philosophy on gender (i.e., feminism). I encourage you to read over the FAQ for more information on these issues.
