Hey guys

So I was talking to my friend whose a staunch feminist and we were talking about violence toward women. She claimed she'll see all men as predators and bad people until they prove otherwise. While I can understand the sentiment I did say it was a misandrist out look in general. She scoffed at this and proceeds to list out why she's justified. Stuff like men are far more likely to kill/rape/assault women and are more dangerous in general. I agreed. However I said if she finds this outlook valid I will also have a similar outlook towards women due to my past negative experiences with them. And I also added would she condone men who feel the same wariness towards women due to past traumatic experiences with them. She said this is not acceptable and it's different. I said this is a double standard and not all men should be labeled for the actions of the rotten apples. She then said to cut the Not all men bullshit and that it won't change the way she feels. That I'm too high up in my male privilege to notice and that I should be more informed. Then she sends me an ask women thread about the topic. If there's anything I know about that sub it's that it's biased to hell.

Now I'm not denying her experiences. What I'm mad about is the double standard. When she said men can kill woman, I replied while it's harder for women to kill men, it's pretty easy for a woman to destroy a man's reputation and turn society against him. Again she scoffs and says it's not the same. What do you guys think, am I right to feel this is a double standard or is she right?

Additionally while I know I benefit somewhat as a male I don't really feel I have a lot of that privilege. I'm a short skinny Indian man. Literally every woman I know, even average ones enjoy a rich dating and social life compared to me. Everything's harder for me in general. Yes I know I'm less likely to get harassed but I'm pretty much invisible and don't have any real value in social settings/society. So what privilege do I enjoy, the privilege of having no inherent value and being worthless?
