I've been sympathetic to the MRM for a while (I think it all started with Karen Straughan's videos), and I've expressed those views to friends and family quite openly when discussions about gender issues come up. For a few years now, I've been meaning to do something. A podcast, a blog, a group. something. But it all feels much more urgent since I gave birth to my son last year. I suppose that timing/trigger is symptomatic of my own gynocentrism, but at least it's inspiring positive things.

I sat with my partner tonight and watched The Red Pill. We had to pause it three times for me to compose myself, because hearing those stories, about the guy who lost his son despite his ex making him obese, about the boys and men slaughtered by Boko Haram, about the little boy whose penis was mutilated during a botched circumcision, just broke my heart. They're not things I haven't heard of before, not things I was ignorant of - but after a few days of reading commentary in Reddit when links have been posted to the documentary, it suddenly hit me just how dehumanised men and boys are. This is a documentary that acknowledges feminist issues and draws attention to men's issues, and still it is branded as hate. Still they have attempted to shut it down. Still the feminist commentators were utterly incapable of anything approaching empathy, based purely on gender, and had to continually draw the conversation back to their own paradigms in order to preserve the cognitive dissonance that keeps them comfortable in their perceived damsel (or chivalrous hero) roles.

I am disgusted and enraged, and I want to help.

So my question to you all is - how?

I live in Ireland and I'm a (very lucky) stay-at-home mum (so my time is somewhat limited). But what can I do with that time, to help? All suggestions welcome!
