I don't understand why we need feminism to see that male-on-male violence is bad. I was raised to never get into fights. This whole idea that men are raised to be violent and need feminism to connect with their feelings is itself a manipulation used by feminism.

Perhaps it’s those who want to keep the status quo as it is.

So ... boys are disadvantaged?

What is she trying to imply? That it's OK for white working-class boys to fall behind because boys from other racial/ethnic groups are falling behind more? Sounds kind of like a weird argument to make but OK.

Whenever feminists bring up Tate, I have to chuckle. They helped create him. Tate uses their misandry to fuel his cause. I have to admit I find it funny she makes certain points like:

She ignores the fact that white working-class boys on free school meals, despite getting suspended less, still achieve poorer results than those black Caribbean boys she mentions and ignores that although as a percentile within groups other ethnicities might be more likely to be on free school meals overall whites are still the most likely to be in receipt of them because, despite the best efforts of her ilk, whites are still the majority of the country.

I've read the Guardian for a while and about 5-8 years ago they would allow comments on their feminist articles.

However, many of the comments were calling out the inconsistencies and poor arguments in their articles.

They then shut off comments on these types of articles (still churning them out like clockwork).

Guess they didn't like what their readership had to say and decided to silence them in true dictorial fashion.

It annoys me as I'd like to hear what their readership has to say on these matters, but can't because of what is effectively censorship.

This is a typical feminist tactic. When someone points out an issue that men face, it’s twisted back into a women’s issue. For instance, if you point out that men are more likely to be attacked than women, a possible response could be ‘but who is attacking them? Oh look OTHER MEN! This is because of toxic masculinity and thus is a feminist issue’.

There are many more such examples.

A very well written, persuasive and refreshing article.

The old “boys don’t cry” narratives that say men shouldn’t be vulnerable about their feelings are part of the same system that portrays girls as “hormonal”, “hysterical” and unsuited to particular career paths...Recognising this does not mean undermining or ignoring boys’ needs, but finding ways to meet them. Our boys deserve better than to be used as a shield for anti-feminist provocateurs with more interest in stoking “culture wars” than actually helping them.

Feels like the point she's making is that feminists and people who advocate for men's rights are fundamentally on the same side. She’s arguing for unity and against divisiveness here and I say power to her!
