Look at the statistics from Iceland who made a huge circus about having the most transparency with the pay gap.

Also, in addition to profession, you must add tenure, experience, geography, and company for a real apples to apples comparison.

The ABS has some data, but it's pretty limited. The Universities love doing surveys of graduates and they usually show that "women earn less than men" but when you break it down further, it's always degree linked. eg Dentists start on ave $95,000, with males $95,500 and females $94,500, then Engineers males $85,000, females $88,000 (always more) and then teaching males $55,000, females $55,000.

When you split it, Public job $68,000 (ave) and private job $75,000 (ave), but public is 75% female

The bottom line is the equal pay act makes it illegal to pay women less for equal work. We have a pay gap because women don’t do the same equal work men do. Women work fewer hours, women are more likely to drop out if the workforce. Men are more likely to do dangerous work in return for better pay.

I have done my own research and found multiple sources more men > women BUT when data wouldn’t separate by profesion but rather educational level.

As other's have pointed out, I don't love the approach of looking for evidence that fits an existing belief. So instead, let's ask for evidence proving a discriminatory wage gap, and see if there is sufficient evidence. This makes more sense anyway, as the burden of proof would be on feminists for this matter. I'll paste from a previous post I made which examined 9 sources commonly cited by feminists:

The study from the AAUW, "Graduating to a Pay Gap." It claims to compare men and women one year after college graduation (finds that women earn 82%), and that even when they control for occupation, hours worked, etc. they still find a wage gap of 7 percentage points. Two problems with this, they bury the 7% figure in the body of the paper while putting the 82% figure in the summary, so people ted to cite that (including politicians). The second problem is that they didn't control for occupation correctly. That would require a great deal of work as there are thousands of occupations they would need to categorize, but instead they used 12 broad occupational categories. One of these was "other white collar jobs." Another was just "Other." You can't compare librarians to attorneys and say that you compared "apples to apples." Shoddy research.

Same profession, different behaviours, different earnings. I think you will find more evidence of a gender pay gap because of that than evidence of equal pay. I earn more than my female colleagues in my clinic because 12 years ago I was willing to study, commute, and take on more difficult treatments and patients. Not because I have a penis.

See Warren Farrell’s book 25 Ways to Higher Pay. It’s a few years old, but he spent like 10 years working on it and it contains a lot of data. Specifically he talks about what affects income. Men commute longer, take more dangerous jobs etc. when you correct for these the so called gender wage gap disappears.

You won't need sources because doing that is pretty fucking illegal in every modernized country. Wage differences typically come based on when you were employed (younger people get higher starting wages to make jobs more attractive) rather than what gender you have.

Your question is either vague, or misleading. If we are to compare wages, one needs to add in the number of hours worked at x job, not the number of years one has worked some quality of hours. If that’s what you are looking for, yes I can point you to data that indicates women actually slightly exceed mens wages with all other variables removed. Men take less time off and work way more hours.

What you are doing here is backwards logic. You are starting with a belief, in this case it is that men don't earn more money than women in the same profession, and desperatly searching for evidence to support it. If you really cared about finding the right answer you would do your own research to find out what the truth is. But you don't care about the truth, you care about pushing your agenda. This kind of post and mentality is the death of intellectualism and frankly, I'm disgusted.
