Define terms. When they say "systemic", what do they mean exactly?

For example do they mean systemic at the global level, the country level, the state level, the city level, the neighborhood level, the coworker/friends/family level, social media level, etc?

For example, let's say you have a school with 90% of their teachers being women. A group of female teachers bullies/harasses a male teacher on the basis of his sex.

Does that qualify as institutional discrimination, with the institution being the school and its staff?

If they say that doesn't qualify as institutional discrimination, ask why.

And/or reverse the roles; if a woman works in construction and is the only woman on the crew, and is discriminated against by her male coworkers, does that qualify?

There are so many ways to counter that lie, and we need to do that as often as possible in as many places as possible.

Look at the huge number of anti-male quotes from prominent feminists. They say “misandry doesn’t exist” and “kill all men” in almost the same breath, while churning out endless anti-male slogans and terms like “toxic masculinity”, “mansplaining,” “mankeeping,” and so on.

Misandry is built into our legal system—innocent until proven guilty for women, guilty until proven innocent for men when it comes to accusations. The Duluth Model presumes male guilt. When men and women commit the same crime, men are much more likely to be charged, convicted, sentenced, or executed.

Misandry is built into our healthcare system. Women outlive men, but there’s more funding and offices for women’s health than men’s health.

Misandry is built into our educational system. Women get more degrees than men, but more scholarships are still reserved for women than men.

Misandry is built into our other assistance programs. Men and women perpetrate domestic violence at similar rates, but there are far more resources for female DV victims than male DV victims. Look at any directory of charities, and you’ll see a lot more organizations devoted to helping women than men.

Society-wide, misogyny is a drop in the bucket compared to misandry.

Edit: Don’t trust anything Wikipedia says about gender issues. A few years ago women’s studies majors and feminists flooded into the editorial staff there, and they’ve been pumping biased info into the content. It’s unreliable.

1/ Wikipedia is full of activists. Use it for strictly factual information, but do not rely on it for anything that has a political angle.
2/ Our whole political, law, education and judicial systems are rife with systemic discrimination against men and boys. It's much harder to find anything that is actually fair than to find something that is biased against men.

It's a matter of taking a little time to see the bias, rather than assuming everything is just fine.

Just invert the roles.

If all else still applies, then it shouldn't be a problem, and if it suddenly becomes a problem, then there is a hidden assumption that they're not willing to disclose openly.

This goes for everything, it's just basic logic.

If a word for specific hatred towards men (misandry) does not exist, why bother creating a word for specific hatred towards women (misogyny)? One cannot have a cake and eat it as well.

O there most definitely is. Drawing attention to male victims after yet another report on female victims of partner violence. Anyone drawing attention to the men are downvoted.

Meanwhile 0 articles about male victims in YEARS; and almost yearly about the woman.

There is definitely misandry present.

Here's an easy example of systemic-discrimination re misandry:

The Canadian government deems women - incl. whites - a minority. Deemed as such, they are given priority over white men (and are at par with racial-minority men) when hiring

For at least the past 10+ years the vast majority of employees in the Canadian Public Service have been women - esp. whites - yet they still continue to be labeled a minority & such hiring practices continue. As of 2023, women made up 56.8% of Canada's federal public service, while men were at 43.2%

Ofc it's just compounding a huge problem in the other direction that make men the minority & continue to put them at risk of even further decline

Yet, no implementations - and not even discussion because that would be highly inflammatory - to have the pendulum swing the other way a little bit to get some balance are underway

Wikipedia like a lot of media is in large part driven by politics. The fact that it states such a thing is disturbing but not unexpected. A top strategy in The Feminist Playbook is to push the false & much outdated narrative of only misogyny & patriarchy, while denying the possibility of any such analog to these concepts for men, tho there's really only hard evidence these days of misandry at an institutional level

Let's break this down.

First off, Misandry has a definition and it's "dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men". It does not rely on systemic discrimination nor institutional support. Let me use it correctly in a sentence: "The feminist who said misandry doesn't exist was demonstrating misandry."

However, seeing as Feminists like to play semantic games so you're forced to fight on prepared ground, let's play the cards we were dealt.

What is "systematic discrimination"? Internet says: "Systematic discrimination is unfair or unequal treatment that is built into the policies, practices, or structures of an organization or society, causing certain groups to be consistently disadvantaged." Structures of a society.

Like schooling? Boys now have worse outcomes in across all grade levels. Studies show that despite similar test scores boys are graded worse due to not being as conscientious. Recess and physical movement time continually get reduced, even though studies boys need more activity to focus. Schools have become pipelines for targeting and medicating boys for normal developmental energy at far higher rates than girls. Early curricula, especially in reading and writing, has been structured in ways that favor girls strengths and developmental timelines. Male teachers are vanishing and so boys lack role models and live in an increasingly feminized school environment. Boys are also taught from an early age that they should be ashamed of their identity as oppressors of girls. They're suspended and expelled far more often and boys drop out at higher and rising rates. Boys receive fewer scholarships and grants. Boys often face stricter or more competitive admissions criteria in certain university programs. They have fewer mentorship, literacy, or support programs targeted toward them. Boys are now a clear minority in post-secondary education, earn fewer college degrees, complete fewer graduate programs, and are increasingly underrepresented in professional fields that require long academic pathways.

Like the justice system? Men and boys face worse outcomes at every stage. Studies show that for the same crimes and comparable circumstances, males receive harsher charges, higher bail amounts, and significantly longer sentences. Boys are more likely to be stopped, searched, and arrested even when rates of offending are equal. Male juveniles are far more often tried as adults and sent to detention facilities rather than diversion programs. Public defenders for boys and young men are often underfunded and overburdened, leading to worse legal representation. Male victims of abuse or trafficking are less likely to be believed, identified, or offered support services. Men face reduced access to rehabilitation, counseling, and restorative justice programs compared to women. Men also experience higher rates of incarceration for non-violent offenses and are less likely to receive alternatives such as community sentencing or treatment programs. Men are overwhelmingly the majority of the incarcerated population, serve longer proportions of their sentences, and face steeper barriers to reentry, employment, and housing once released. Also, you may have heard of the "prison industrial system". An economic model built on the mass incarceration of male bodies. Prisons, legislators, and industries created a structure where financial incentives rise with inmate populations, and where incarcerated men are used as a captive workforce providing ultra-cheap labor across agriculture, manufacturing, firefighting, and state services. Many facilities openly depend on maintaining high male incarceration rates to sustain revenue, and documented cases show corrupt arrangements between courts and detention centers to increase the flow of inmates. It is the result of government policies, and relationships that turn the lives of boys and men into raw material for an economic machine that profits from their confinement.

Like family courts and divorce? Courts claim neutrality, but custody decisions still lean heavily on the primary-caregiver standard, which overwhelmingly results in mothers receiving primary custody even when fathers were active parents. Judges often fall back on traditional gender assumptions, treating mothers as default caregivers and fathers as secondary. Child-support formulas place the larger financial burden on men, and enforcement is fast and unforgiving, while enforcement of a father's visitation rights is slow and inconsistent. Allegations during divorce can trigger immediate consequences through temporary orders issued on limited evidence, and male victims of abuse face greater skepticism and fewer resources. Nearly all support structures like shelters, legal aid, advocacy groups are built around women, leaving fathers with minimal institutional help. Men are more likely to lose meaningful access to their children, face heavier financial strain, and navigate processes shaped by entrenched gender norms that consistently disadvantage fathers.

I could do this all day. The health system? Mental health services? Workplace and employment law? Sexual assault law and services? Military and the draft? Men face institutional oppression in each, and that makes it systemic. Trust I could do this all day.

Sounds pretty damn systemic and institutional to me.

I just say that there are no laws in Germany that discriminate against women but plenty of laws that discriminate against men. So their opinion is just gibberish.

Am sick of pretending that those people are sane instead of evil propagandists.

I don’t argue with people spouting nonsense, that’s how I counter any argument they have that unilaterally disqualifies a whole segment based on the poor actions of a few.

This goes for anyone in this sub, or another, if you try to justify a narrow minded view with over an over generalization of the group, it’s hard to bother trying to get through, they’ve been indoctrinated by group think and lack the ability to think for themselves.

Do you really think you are going to argue your way into agreement with these people?

I agree with them because it’s true.

Misandry exists on cultural levels. Men’s mental health, suspicions when men have close relationships with children etc.

But it doesn’t touch the sides. Women are subject to much, MUCH more and regardless of whose fault that is, it is our responsibility to do something about that. We are not oppressed.
