I'd say much better. The discussion about both women's and men's issues have gone mainstream. Even just 6 months ago many facebook (which is a good general indicator imo) pages ónly showed feminist points of view, and if there were any other opinions they were immediately shut down by an endless barrage of accusations and namecalling. Now finally the discussion is far more balanced, and people actually discuss specific issues rather than feminism or MRA as a whole. Which I see as clear signs of progress.

I also like that far more women are now also standing up for men's issues, whereas those same six months ago it was only men who nobody took seriously. But as soon as women talk about it, the defences go down.

And not just MRA topics, but I think men in general are realizing there's a different way to live that doesn't revolve entirely around women, and that we shouldn't have to put up with all the double standards and imbalances. Call it MGTOW or just a general sense of change, it's definitely a door that's been openened, and there's no going back. And about bloody time :)

6-7 months ago this whole topic used to be really frustrating. Now people are far more receptive, which removes a bit of the tention that might cause defences (especially among women) to go up in the first place. Times they are a changin!

I just wish there would be more media coverage. I havn't seen that many interviews recently. I would love to see people like Karen Straughan, Christina Hoff Sommers and Janice Fiamengo get more screen time. But slowly you do see more and more credible people join in the discussion. Recently came across Laurie A. Couture on youtube. Some very interesting stuff.

For what it's worth, my guess is that the MRM is now where feminism was in the 1970s: marginalised, ridiculed, mocked, outré, dangerous, dissident and radical.

The journey from there to mainstream acceptance can be surprisingly short.

I also have the impression that feminism is in decline, but it's hard to tell, because it's hard to be objective, and a guess isn't really worth much.

I think there is far more negative press in the MSM than there was a few years ago.

This is a good thing, the hit jobs can only continue for so long until people start to take a critical look at what's going on.

both, Our message is spreading faster than i ever thought it would. since the AVFM conference i have seen mens issues talked about more and more, i honestly thought the AVFM con would be a write off event with little impact. this has not been the case. mens issues are creeping slowly but surely. so we are growing and message spreading and starting to be taken credibly.

down side feminist are passing more bizarre and extreme policy. they are still saying insane shit and taken seriously. but i think people are starting to say hold you have gone off the rails. i don't even necessarily want feminism to go away because i think as the mrm grows it will need a counter point so it doesn't become like feminism. i think that why we have the insanity we do now with feminism there was no counter point really say whoa hey there you have gone of the rails. if you look at a lot of the old schoolers they look at modern feminism with disgust and shame like a child that grew up to be the black sheep of the family.

In some ways better and in some ways worse.

Better in that MRA's are now better organized, and that it is beginning to reach mass media in some countries

Worse in that MRA's have very little strategy about how to succeed, and indeed, this lack of strategy is causing the movement to flounder and lose focus

Are we making progress in terms of legislation? Not really. But we are making progress interms of shifting actual attitudes, shifting the conversation and organizing/establishing the movement.

All pre-requisites to actual legislative changes.

From my perspective, I think GamerGate is one of the most interesting things to happen in recent years. I don't think it has directly affected the movement, but gamers are under siege from the feminist hit machine in the same way that we have always been. People are starting to see that the SJW's are fucking insane. A lot of classically liberal people are starting to see through the lies that their media is spinning and questioning everything it says. If GamerGate can beat back SJW media, it shows us that it CAN be done, and it fractures the stranglehold that SJW media has recently held on the narrative.

On the flip side, this subreddit seems to have gotten stale for me. There's some good stuff, but there is a certain timescale of repetition. The AVFM conference was HUGE for us, but ultimately, we're going to have to break out of the routine and focus on tangible, realizable goals. This is hard, because we need critical mass and motivation.

Feminism is imploding. Even though they are maintaining high profile activities such as the affirmative consent laws, people are now ashamed to be thought of as feminists. Apart from an increasingly isolated hard core who have no shame.

It's kind of a mixed bag. There's a lot more discussion going on about various topics. More men and women seem to be getting involved.

But with the increased popularity, we are getting a lot more concern trolling than before. Back then, we saw far more direct hostility and personal attacks focused on given members by avowed feminists. One of the most poignant attacks from back then was when Notnotfred shared a story about abuse that he was subjected to. When he did, a focused group of alleged feminists chose to insult and shame him over the whole thing. At that point, a bunch of us pretty much went apeshit all over them. That sucked for him having to endure that, but it was cool to see a bunch of people stand up for him on that.

But as I mentioned; the concern trolling has gotten far worse. People need to realize that it is simply a more subtle form of shaming language meant to distract us from our goal and distance us from our motivation.

The discussion is better, but the problem is, all the feminists and SJWs are still in power, so in many instances the laws are actually getting worse.
