Is the MR movement pushing for paternity testing at birth? It's one of those issues I've seen floating in feminist subs that I rarely see here. Most of the arguments I see against it tend to go the way of forcing medical exams and such, but given that most babies (here in the US) are already tested for certain genetic diseases like PKU, how is this an actual argument? Also, if we are talking consent, the child cannot consent so parents do so, are we both assuming that the man isn't the father but also denying him the right to make medical decisions bc he might not in fact be the genetic one?

I don't really follow it at all, and I am in the medical field. How is this not a bigger deal for MRAs?

Edit: I'm not even suggesting it need be mandatory, but from what I've seen already here it sounds much more like even if the father wants a test, he can't get it without the mother's consent? It needn't be mandatory, but at least an option we could have?
