[Cross Post] At 18 weeks, a fetus is not a person. If the woman is allowed to destroy the fetus, then the man should be allowed to disown it, and not have to pay child support if the woman decides to carry the fetus into "personhood".

That is literally saying that all men must assume all women are false accusers and act accordingly.

[–]il_viapo 19 points20 points21 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Victim blaming double standard:bad if blame a female, good if you blame a male.

Oh no, silly me, a man cannot be the victim, he has to be the offender.

Which is exactly what is happening in industries across the world, what I personally practice, and what feminists are so upset about.

They finally got what they wanted, power over men, but they lack the responsibility to handle the consequences of that power.

I always assume that if a female employee is left alone with me off camera, she will accuse me of something. I avoid those situations and use my phone to record audio when they are inevitable.

Welcome to the flip-side of Schrödinger's Rapist: Schrödinger's False Accuser.

Seems to be the equivalent of telling women to not place themselves in situations in which rape could occur, the main difference being that rape is done by an individual and is not condoned by society, whilst society itself is leveraged against you in a frivolous accusation of sexual harassment.

[–]contexistential 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. But to be fair, this language is from the companies own press release, not any sort of legal entity. Whether the allegations are true or not, they are going to position themselves as victims and downplay the situation as frivolous.

That's the first thing my and several of my guy friends parents told us before we went to uni. "We know how hard it is to resist temptation, but understand just getting slightly involved with the wrong girl, even if she seemingly wants it, can end your entire life."

College is already female-dominated, and it's only getting worse. It's a hostile environment for men, and I feel bad for the sane women who just want some dick and are starting to find fewer and fewer options because most of us are terrified of even speaking to a girl before the consequences can be so dire.

The eventual outcome of their impulsive need to blame men for everything, including womens own misconduct, leads to these kind of things.

It's essentially an endorsement of the Pence rule.

From what we've seen you can be sitting at home alone and be accused of rape.

How do you avoid that?

Videotape yourself sitting home alone???

I dunno.

But guys, don't forget to not be afraid, get out there and mentor women, you can trust them...

[–]Sawses 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm going to be a middle school teacher in a little over a year. At this point, I've pretty much decided that I'm going to treat any kind of accusations against myself as being like getting struck by lightning. I'll avoid situations that are obviously risky and sketchy (shutting my door with a student in the classroom, for example), but I'm not going to base my life around it. That's no way to live.

[–]fonduman 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just set up cameras everywhere if possible. I mean, even if it's illegal, providing you can hide them until they're actually needed, you'd probably get off considerably lighter than the alternative.

[–]TheMythof_Feminism 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

It is actually interesting that this argument is very well applicable as advise for women to avoid getting raped, but is incredibly stupid advice to avoid getting false accused of rape.

It's just projection and not even good projection at that, it's perception/projection.

[–]fonduman 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Well, the false accusation isn't even the real problem, the problem is how society chooses to act on false accusations i.e. punishing before guilt has even been established

[–]TheMythof_Feminism 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Actively attempting to destroy a man's life via a false rape accusation levied through unofficial channels should be a severe crime with a punishment to reflect it.

We have an entire justice system dedicated to processing these cases. Attempting to bypass it through witch hunt tactics must not be allowed.

[–]fonduman 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Obviously

[–]TheMythof_Feminism 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You say that but your last comment is clear deflection.

You must have misspoken then.

[–]fonduman 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

lolwut, I wasn't even disagreeing with you initially. You talked about avoiding getting falsely accused, I pointed out that being falsely accused wouldn't even be an inherently damaging thing if it wasn't for society deliberately making it so.

[–]TheMythof_Feminism 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I pointed out that being falsely accused wouldn't even be an inherently damaging thing

Do I have to point out directly how your argument is nonsensical?

Yes, accusing someone of committing a crime through unofficial high traffic channels is a crime, at least in my nation. It appears that it is not a crime in the U.S. , this person undermining and subverting the core fundamental human rights of another citizen, in and of itself, is an atrocity. No doubt about it.

society

Terms like "society" and "culture" are abstracts that do not have any argumentative power. You would do well to remove them from your lexicon as it speaks poorly of you to try to formulate a premise based on them.

[–]fonduman 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ok, you're just deliberately being dense now

[–]TheMythof_Feminism 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is that all? deflecting with an ad hominem?

Heh.
