Don't take it. I think for the beginner's level, the Internet is a place to go, and books.

Admittedly, most likely your first programs will be inefficient and you could benefit from someone professional taking a look at it. However a) how do you know that instructor will not spend more time on women since they are "under-represented"?; b) might be cheaper to find a computer science student to look at your code and/or tutor you, and pay like 15 or 20 quids per hour.

Read between the lines: the course isn't worth it. The "discount" is still a ripoff. Marketers love to make these kinds of promotions to make some people believe they're getting a great deal when in fact no one is.

I learned how to program from a $20 book when I was 12 years old. That's all you need to do. Pick a mildly interesting introductory book on a programming language of your choice and work through the tutorial at your own pace.

In fact buy this instead for £44 and learn on your own, you'll save a lot more money and you can just go on the internet and ask questions if you're really stuck and other people will recommend you much better courses.

Where I live if you apply for a scholarship type thing like that and win or whatever you have to receive the money. Like in this situation you could apply and if you got it and they realized you were a man not a women they would still have to give you the money it's illegal to not.

On the general premise of giving a gendered discount, I don't have a problem with the idea. Women are under represented in programming, and if a private institution wants to get more female programmers this is valid. The issue is "What about the men". Programming isn't the only highly gendered field. If we are seeing 65% off discounts for women to break into male dominated fields we should also be seeing just as many 65% off discounts to help men break into female dominated fields.

Well I sent them two emails, the first I got a response from them, the second where I made myself a little more clear I never got a response from them. So this is where I tell you that they must not care, in the first message they reiterated that it was a fact they were trying to lure women into the field of programming. I had explained how that was discriminatory and sexist and never got a reply.

So fuck them, fuck them up their digital goat ass.
