I’m a software engineer. I’ve noticed a ton of hate coming our way lately. I think it’s a couple things. Jealousy of the income, but a total lack of understanding how soul sucking the job can actually be. A lot of us still WFH too, I’ve seen a lot of RTO in other fields. Then there’s the image of it, women hate that the smart non-chads are stacking cheddar, they want access to the money but look at us with disgust sexually, it’s a very unsexy career as well. I’m a walking example of what everyone hates about MGTOW. I stack cash, live at the beach, drive fast cars, have nice tech equipment, not a dime goes to women outside tax theft.

It's because of the believe that these tech bros got their position for being a man.
Men get their positions for free. Women have to somehow fight tooth and nail for their position.
It's lazy, reductive and has no proof of being true. The closest proof they have is that the fields are dominated by men. Domination by men is always been seen negative, until it's about blue collar jobs.

Ever since Feminism removed women's dating prospects by putting them in the workforce, we've been put in some ultra capitalistic system where success by men is trying to be replaced by women. It's not possible to give everyone a highly paid job, so now, it's just endlessly using gender bashing and victimization to climb the socio-economic ladder. 'Tech bros' is one of those ways.

Tech bros is literally those 4 dudes, zuck, musk, sam altman and another goofy - these people do not equate to all men working in any form of tech - what women view as the "patriarchy" is just capitalism - everyone is getting fucked by these guys

A lot of people generally dislike the effect technology especially AI and social media is having on society and thus don't like the people pushing for it. a lot of people if given the choice to take society back in tech 10 years would say yes. It's also not good when the biggest figure heads range between dislike and disgust. A lot of people think tech bro and think crypto scammer, or fascist adjacent, art theives,. its also important to know the difference between someone saying "techbro" vs talking about a bro who likes tech they are very different things.

It's not odd, it reflects reality. Go outside and speak with people, most of them will show contempt to all tech and IT people. Saying that they are overpaid and don't do real work.

Hell, in my country they will often say they wish we still had the old communist work camps so they could send us there.
