I've ranted about this before but seeing a card game at work called "Girl Power" (of course, what else) and seeing this slogan on it pissed me off all over again as to how much I loathe and despite it. How is this promoting equality and inclusivity, with such an obvious and blatantly sexist and supremacist statement? It's absolutely no different from the likes of "white power" and should be considered hate speech, which it very much is. It's all the worse considering the person who coined it advovated for genocide and reducing the world's male population to 10%. So using this slogan, one isn't only promoting misandry but anti-male genocide to boot, given it's origins.

It sucks so much how misandry and any form of misandrist hate speech is normalized and acceptable and is seen as empowering, when it clearly shouldn't be. I also wouldn't and don't approve of "the future is male" which is just as sexist and supremacist (and just as stupid to boot), and such a slogan would be rightfully condemned yet this gets a pass and is seen as empowering. It's disgusting. Misandrists of course defend it saying it isn't sexist and is merely promoting women's advancement and how far they've come, but does such a hateful phrase has to be used to get that point across?

It's also worth noting this stupid card game also had the #Whoruntheworld hashtag on it, which of course references the equally loathesome "girls run the world" slogan. Ugh. It's so worrying about the effect this has on young boys exposed to both of these awful slogans. It's arguably a form of child abuse as well. Telling boys who have their whole lives ahead of them that they've got no future and are worthless, and that they're to be subservant to women and girls no matter what. Which is something we already see a great deal of.
