Slavery is involuntary servitude; conscription is involuntary military servitude; therefore not only is conscription slavery; it's a particularly heinous form of slavery that often ends in maiming and death.

When I see reporters in Ukraine on the news, in the background it's all women no men in sight.

At least the Russian men still have the option to flee the country to avoid conscription.

I don’t think these women AREN’T sad... but they sure do seem to be pretty damn apathetic. At the end of the day, they know that this man being enslaved, trafficked, and killed ultimately benefits them, so they won’t change anything.

Contrast that to what happens when a women in Iran is mistreated. The country’s youth, including men, go crazy.

The reality is women will not lift a finger to help men yet at the same time stay in the background and cry about how sad they are that men are literally being killed from their sexism

There should be referendum in every country about conscription. Rule should be that all votes are public and ones that vote in favor should get drafted themselves regardless of gender, age or any other status. Then no country will have conscription.

Decades will pass, maybe centuries, we will be long dead by then, but if humans keep progressing and don't go extinct, there will come a day when military slavery (conscription) will be considered one of the most heinous crimes our species have ever done in history.

There's a great book called Starship Troopers where unless you serve in army, you cant participate in politics, but nobody is dragging you out of home and forcing you into military. You have all the rights except right to run politics unless you serve. If you think about it, this is THE ONLY acceptable form of conscription, something I'd unironically support.

But apparently, some people called that book's fictional society dystopian. Ironic thing is that the form of conscription in that book is far more humane, pragmatic and civilized than what Ukraine is doing, what US has done, what Korea is doing and has done and what many other countries have done in past and are doing today...

I don’t always agree with MRA, but on this, I do. The draft is disgusting and sad and everyone should be subject to it if anyone is. Ideally, it would be completely abolished but if instituted, it’s only fair everyone take the same risks.

He seems like a young guy who hasn't even had much life to live. Really unfair.

It's difficult. I have mixed feelings on conscription... This shows how badly the war in Ukraine is going... They are running out of people and need conscription to find people to defend their homeland...

I hope and wish that no one has to be conscripted. And I hope they can reach a peace agreement soon. (I know it's wishful thinking)

The US did the exact same thing when we needed to draft people. It's war. Put away your feelings. And yes I have served in the US military. I'm more concerned that women aren't drafted as in countries such as Norway and Israel where everyone serves.
