Misandry, 2015's rich, bitchy, delicious evidence suggests, is not a fad. It's in your music and on your television; it's at the movies and in your Twitter stream. It's shaping culture and it's influencing women. If your #MasculinitySoFragile that you've got a problem with that, let me refer you to Hillary Clinton's near-audible eye-rolling at the Benghazi hearing, to Ex Machina's sweetly homicidal Ava, or to New York City's 2015 manspreading misdemeanor. Misandry's here to stay, boys. Get used to it.

Note that this was not written by a teenage girl but a 51-year-old woman who apparently gets paid to write for a living.

[–]random60 17 points18 points19 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Now replace the word 'misandry' with 'misogyny', and 'women' with 'men', and 'boys' with 'girls'.

Can you imagine this being written in a major news site?

This is why I always say that men are far more oppressed than women, and now again I'm being proven right.

[–]harryballsagna 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The saddest thing is that this doesn't work. If the target is a white male, they will argue that the substitution is not applicable.

They begin with the conclusion that, because some whites have done terrible things, and many of those happened to be men, we are deserving of some comeuppance. That is why they refuse to be pinned down with language by changing the definitions of sexism and racism. No matter what a non-white person or woman does, it couldn't possibly be as bad as what white men do. The language is an already-biased playing field that begins with the presupposition of white/male culpability.

Then they use privilege, the ownership of which is virtually unknowable by the owner (conveniently knowable by women/non-whites). It has a logical trap door in it: if you can't see it, it means that you're even more privileged than originally posited. It's like God: you have to have faith that he/it exists. That absence of solid evidence is proof that even more faith is required. If you don't see your privilege, it's because your privilege is in the way, and you have to check it more.

The goal of privilege checking is to keep us in a state of disequilibrium where we're always dialectically surveying our environment to make sure we aren't oppressing anybody by standing up for ourselves. It's a hermetically sealed logic that makes us shut ourselves up.

Your substitution is a great tool to winnow out true egalitarians, but is powerless in the face of SJWs and their revenge logic: "you simply don't matter, and you probably deserve every emotion of unfairness you're feeling right now. It's our turn now. How does that feel?"

[–]bitchessuck 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They begin with the conclusion that, because some whites have done terrible things, and many of those happened to be men, we are deserving of some comeuppance.

Yay for collective guilt bullshit! This reminds me of Kollektivschuld. Some people claim all German citizens still share the guilt of the crimes done by the nazis. Some even spinned this further and coined the term Tätervolk (i.e. "nation of perpetrators"). Sometimes I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Anyway, if an argument starts with this, you don't even need to continue to listen because the initial assertion of course falls flat.

[–]ay_ch 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Collective, inherited, indelible guilt. A highly illiberal idea if there ever was one.

The reasonable response to collective guilt is collective punishment. Permanent, unlimited collective punishment. I remember some SJW on Tumblr writing about her job in a university hiring office some time ago. If the applicant was a woman or a person of color, she would move their application to the top of the pile and if the applicant was a white man, she'd move it to the bottom or, perhaps, accidentally misplace it. Into the trash.

This was, of course, her own cutsie-pooh contribution to making a better society for everyone.

[–]CourageousCauliflowr0 points 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

learn how oppression works. it doesn't "go both ways". it's not "sexism" that's the problem. watered-down buzzword. the problem is male supremacy. so your substitution is bunk.

try it by replacing "women" with "poc" and see how that goes.

[–]3happy5u 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can be 51 year old and have the emotional maturity of a brat.

This woman probably lives with 40 cats and vents off her sexual frustration by writing childish tantrums online.

She's pretty damn pathetic, once you consider that.

[–]sweeptheleg55 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Damn. So this kind of crap makes me want to be a red pill d bag. If we're all gonna be treated like it any way what's the point.

[–]Wargame4life 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can taste her loneliness, so bitter.

[–]CourageousCauliflowr1 point 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

woah, she is awesome! lol!

[–]the-tominator -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Keep this entire article archived offline and online. If it causes a stir, they'll remove it and pretend it didn't happen. They'll pull the "I've never said that!" and 'no true feminist' diversions.

Keep this article, it's a weapon for us, and quote it when appropriate. It's not some crazy Tumblr, it's Vice.

Not only is she admitting misandry is real (which is a rare treat) but she's also celebrating it (which is common, but to get the two together is a big admission of guilt).

[–]ay_ch 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just curious- is it ok to mock female tears now, too? I mean, I don't see people doing that but it seems like the feminists have paved the way for it.

[–]Wargame4life 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"he for she" remember lol

[–]Skiiwalker 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Does gavin mcginnis still have a say in the articles published in his company because i would have a hard time believing he would let this get out to the public.

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

imagine those two meeting in the hallway at work.

Her: Hi CISpatriarchal scumbag
Him:Hi bloodsucking Shrew-harpy.

Her: Same time next week?
Him: Sure thing.

[–]soalone34 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I thought he left the company.

[–]Skiiwalker 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ya see thats the part idk about

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics 8 points9 points10 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

When feminists discuss equality this is what they mean: revenge. For all the slights, real or imagined, that other women throughout history have ever faced.

They want a return to how they imagined the 1950s were, just with the genders flipped.

[–]Azothlike 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If I could be a 1950s woman, that would be fantastic.

I'm fairly attractive, and working is getting old. A free ride would be nice, please and thank you.

[–]_snoo[S] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They want a return to how they imagined the 1950s were

How they imagined being the key. Unfortunately quite a few feminists seem to think that "Mad Men" is a documentary.

[–]ay_ch 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I remember some interview with an old guy who worked in the advertising biz back in the early 60s. He said "It wasn't like that." I wish I could find it again.

[–]garglemesh42 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Like a person that breaks up with her so because of a dream where the so cheated, the facts just don't matter to them.

[–]Antrophis 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why did I just read that. My brain hurts now. If misandry is cool then I would like to know when the first mars colonization trip is.

[–]Wargame4life 8 points9 points10 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

misandry is cool in the same way that being fat ugly angry and smelly is "cool".

There are a demographic that celebrates that "lifestyle" and they tend to be the ones that also think "misandry is cool"

normal people dislike misandry and misogyny, they believe that an individual does not reflect nor should be held accountable for actions or behaviours that he or she themselves had no part in.

those people are normal people not these demented bitter skanks writing hate fodder for jaded hags

[–]rg57 -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just be sure you send someone who deserves a slow death, rather than yourself, because the radiation, lack of maintenance supplies, harsh weather, and low gravity, will surely kill anyone who goes there intending to stay.

[–]TheAngledian5 points 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Um.

It's all fine fun to make #killallmen jokes on Twitter, but Cosby's betrayal of our trust eroded any irony with each new iteration.

Um.

You're taking... one guy. One guy accused my many women of multiple sexual assaults. Whom the majority of men have gone on record to decry and express their disgust, if not a cautious "let's wait for the evidence before jumping to conclusions"

You're taking that one instance, and using it to justify MISANDRY. To say that people saying that KILLING ALL MEN IS SOMEHOW OKAY AND NO LONGER IRONIC.

OH MY FUCKING GOD HOW DOES THIS BITCH SLEEP AT NIGHT WITH SUCH HATEFUL THINGS IN HER BRAIN.

Sorry now I'm very angry. It disgusts me how hateful people can be and it only seems that MRAs are willing to actually get upset about it. It hurts my heart, man.

Anger leads to misandry. And misandry leads to some pretty amazing social action, not to mention some great pop culture.

She's a fucking Sith lord! A FUCKING SITH LORD! Isn't it not, Anger leads to Hate? How can she not see the crippling irony in this?

I just don't get it. We don't take discrete events and use them to justify hating women, or expressing desires to kill all women. But yet, for some fucked up reason, we're labelled as the hate group, and people believe it. This makes my head hurt. The worst part, is that people will think this comment is misogynistic because I called the writer a bitch. I'm sorry, but when your views are so miserably low and hateful, you absolve yourself of the protection against being called every name in the book.

I need a shower.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But let's not forget the male cheers, like the glorious retraction of the Rolling Stone false rape accusation article.

[–]MalibuStayZ 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Misandry is nothing new

Unfortunately this is so true. The history of humanity is a history of misandry where men died in wars, had to work so much harder than women, prove their worthiness as humans and earn their right to live, while women always lived on the chocolate side.

Nowadays misandry is really nothing new, only the word.

Sometimes, I feel like a sociopath for voting conservative.

Then, I remember that this specific magazine regularly sits down with the POTUS, and I realize that if I have no other purpose in life, it will be to tear this whole thing down. Please, next time you vote, remember, this specific magazine is an arm of the democratic party. THIS is the modern democratic party. The only reason I don’t kill myself is because sadists like this would cheer that on.

Remember, not all feminists are like that – merely the ones on platforms which the president also speaks on. Merely the ones in power.

[–]_snoo[S] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sometimes, I feel like a sociopath for voting conservative.

I would have no problem voting conservative if they offered anything for men and boys. But they don't. They claim to be anti-feminist but don't support men's rights. And in many cases they are even worse than self-described feminists, cutting budgets for Veterans and the homeless, attacking unions, shutting down crisis centers for male victims of rape, and so forth.

So pox on all their houses.

[–]soalone34 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wait, what? Just because the president has interviewed here doesn't mean he supports every article they release, Obama has been interviewed on Fox News multiple times.

[–]76557656756 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That was never stated. Merely that this is a prominent platform which has been utilized by politicians, and that this is certainly a view shared by democrats. In this specific case the democratic party does support this concept. Mattress Girl was at the State of the Union. Do you understand how selective that group is?

Democrats believe in the wage gap. Democrats believe that those hurt by war most are women. Democrats believe that adult male refugees are a problem but adult women refugees are fine. Democrats believe more must be done to correct imbalances facing women, even though statistically things are tilted in women's favor.

[–]GrimB0LD 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's Vice, the limbo bar of journalism. The FOX news of the left. Getting upset at what they say is like taking it personally when your two-year-old has a tantrum and yells "I hate you! I'm running away from home!"

[–]cardinal_cs 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would hope that people would have more sympathy for the issues that men and boys are dealing with. Not everyone is as fortunate as they are. Some boys have developmental issues, some boys don't get adopted from foster care. This doesn't mean you should "throw rocks at them" or take pride in causing them to cry over their lack of parents. These are boys for goodness sake. Yeah, they may want to propagate the hate against them just for being boys "Misandry's here to stay, boys. Get used to it."

So we should fight back, and say, hey wait a second, boys deserve help too. Not just girls, just because they have a different sex doesn't mean they are not worthy of some sympathy from society.

[–]CarbonBlob78 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And why do some people wonder why I utterly loathe women.

Fuck you bitches, fuck you.

[–]Mouguias 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow! Soo... In 2015 you had these three celebrities who turned out to be evil, therefore you can indulge in hatred against a group without as much as an atom of guilt. Actually you can be proud, you are fighting opression!
See, the problem is, 2015 is also the year when this male, Adel Termos, gave selflessly his life, thus saving others (women and girls among them) in a terrorist attack in Beirut. I know you havent heard of him, he is not mentioned in the same gossip columns as Bill Cosby, but you might make an effort and google him, dont you think? While you are at it, you might as well google for the heroes of the Paris attack (yeah, plural; yeah, all males) like Ludovic Boumbas, the man who took a bullet and DIED to protect a random woman in a cafe. Sorry to punch your bag of bullshit. You still are a crazy bitch if you hate all men.

[–]FFXIV_Machinist 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

so.... she mentions james dean. didnt all of the "accusers" promptly have their accusations decimated by RECORDED VIDEO OF HIM NOT DOING THE THING THEY ACCUSED HIM OF? and that it was literally a "girl power" sticking it to the patriarchy play that a handful of vindictive people thought up?
