Why so conservative?

I don't think the whole MRM is particularly right-wing or conservative - though I do identify as such, myself.

I used to be an active left-winger, but the misandry and discrimination against men drove me away. It turned out that conservatives were more male-friendly, and that suited me.

However, there's no reason that left-wingers can't support men's rights too. It's just that so many prominent left-wing organisations hate men, and that drives some of us away.

I ask myself a similar question as to why reddit, as a whole (especially r/politics) is so liberal.

Feminists vote for the left for a reason, the left is always kissing womens asses and trying to get their vote and are MORE than willing to vote for every piece of anti-male pro-feminist peace of legislation that passes thru congress. Conservates are far less misandric than lefties. Just look at the recent NYT "are men neccessary" article (they have a lot of those type articles), it was a far right website that called them out for their disgusting misandry (WSJ).

I believe that it was also the far left times that continued to bash the Duke lacrosse boys (the ones that were falsely accused of rape) even after all of the evidence pointed to their innocence and after all of the charges were dropped against them. Disgusting, so its not surprising there are a lot of conservatives here (tho there are still a lot of lefties here).

so because we don't all go on about how women are supposedly mistreated we are all right-wingers? I would consider myself a libertarian conservative but mens rights isn't a republican party thing, it's a personal issue that anyone can have a stance on regardless of their political affiliation.

This sub-reddit has a lot of left wingers and I like the balance where the two can co-exist. Feminism used to be more inclusive, but it became radical left wing with the 3rd wave.

My best guess as to why the movement is conservative on the whole is that feminist groups tended to ally with left leaning groups and since the MRM wanted to oppose feminism, it drifted towards the right.

Also, I consider myself pretty left-wing (so far to the left of Obama that Republicans would call me a commie) and I support men's rights because I want equality.

You will see right-wing viewpoints and articles from time to time, and you will see left-wing viewpoints and articles from time to time.

The MRM does not put itself towards any affiliation, and solely focuses on men's issues. If conservatives one day are supporting men, then the MRM will stand by them. If liberals another day are supporting men, then the MRM will stand by them.

We are different from feminism in this way because feminism has chosen to affiliate itself with specific irrelevant political ideologies. It leaves feminism with a very narrow playing-field, and ostracizes those who are not a part of those external third-party viewpoints. It also confuses the scope of the movement.

Someone's fiscal viewpoints should not matter as to whether someone supports men's rights, unless those fiscal viewpoints directly relate to men's issues. There are so many people who support the MRM, and they should all be welcome regardless of their external irrelevant viewpoints.

That's just my two cents.

I'm not right-wing.

Except, you may consider my position on economics as leaning towards the right, but even there I'm not among the american libertardian style kooks. I'm all for the central bank regulating interest rates, money supply and setting a monetary policy. Because it's a proven approach that works.

And of course, I know what it is like to live under commie economic policies. There's nothing to be found there apart from poverty.

We did a poll recently, and conservatives were a minority. Liberal and moderates were the majority.

Because a lot of life is right-wing or conservative.

Not everyone agrees with your outlook on life.

Dealing with this is part of daily life in 2012.

A part of the explanation lies in the general tendency of the left to support the appropriation of private money for public work. A huge amount of this money has been used to support anti-male legislation and propaganda.

This subreddit is probably the only big liberal MRA site.

As for why the rest of the MRM is conservative... well... the rest of the MRM has moved past "bitching about the problem" and towards "seeking answers/solutions" and we've found that the liberal belief in universal equality is what has caused most of the problems that the MRM faces.

Liberalism is unworkable as a social system, and it's belief in equality creates a state of female superiority (because, surprise, men and women are actually not interchangeable!)
