When feminist figured out the result of equal pay is equal spendings lololol

[–]HenryCGk 51 points52 points53 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Most consumer spending is done by women, even in men's products. Hence the old spice and gillette add campaigns targeting women.

[–]getoffmyjohnson92 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Boycott Gillette !

[+][deleted] -41 points-40 points-39 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Have yet to receive equal pay but okay statistics are wrong and you're right 😂😂

[–][deleted] 37 points38 points39 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I’m ready, show me your stats. Women earn as much as men for the same job, same hours, same competences. However, women willingly choose less paying job, work less hours on average, and ask less for pay raises. The pay gap is a myth, and Scandinavian countries prove it, especially Sweden.

Funny how feminists complain about the fact that there are way more men in engineering, but not in construction😏. Double standard as usual.

[–]Halafax 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women earn as much as men for the same job, same hours, same competences.

In many metro areas, women earn more than men. Initially. Things go sideways after kids and cutting back work time. It tends to happen in metro areas because corporations are bidding against each other for women in certain roles, and corporations tend to home themselves in larger cities.

I'm a full time single dad, I'm very aware of the career/family tradeoff. I would be making a lot more (maybe double) if I had time to commit to the specialties that pay well. I accept that, I prefer the time with my kids. I understand I can't have both, but feminists refuse to budge in the face of reason.

[–]getoffmyjohnson92 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah and now with the fem movement, women are being selected as the lead formen instead of the entry level construction worker

[–]getoffmyjohnson92 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women refuse to work more overtime than men and work less dangerous jobs. Women are 10 times more likely to get a scholarship to college. Stfu!

[–]May097 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Did you actually read the stats?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Have yet to receive equal pay but okay statistics are wrong and you're right 😂😂

Perhaps if women worked longer hours, worked dangerous jobs, worked in more remote locations and prioritized career over flexibility, they'd earn as much on average as men do. Why would they bother though when they can tap into someone else's income for a fraction of the effort?

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you aren't getting equal pay, then may be you are not working hard enough... Or work in a poorly paid specialization..

May be you should change your job instead of ranting here on reddit!

[–]ThumpingBump 45 points46 points47 points 4 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

Go by percentage, I earn 70% of the monthly income and my fiance dies 70% of the house work.

[–]TheeBattleMedic 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Cheaper that way lol

[+]ThumpingBump -17 points-16 points-15 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

It's not how you much you pay, it's hiw much you make. I make 70% but pay closer to 90% because my SO is better at saving than me.

[–]OldEgalitarianMRA 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

If they don't pay for half then they are not better at savings, they're pocketing half your money...but hey, you do you. Most people are like you. My sister and all my nieces and nephews don't share income and the men pay most of the bills.

That's not for me.

[–]FourFsOfLife 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So his money is their's and their money is their's too?

[–]OldEgalitarianMRA 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They aren't married. Legally his money, or lack of it, is his and her money is hers. Should they break up tomorrow he's screwed.

His decision. I don't judge.

[–]ThumpingBump 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If we were married, yes but right now I am taking a risk.

[–]ThumpingBump -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

No, it's I can't save... I have money I spend it so it's better for me to spend more and her save because then we'll be saving the most we can.

[–]OldEgalitarianMRA 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Are you married? No problem, it's all community property.

[–]ThumpingBump 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We will be next year, but it's just playing ti each others strengths.

[–]ZidaneLoire 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I hope you are happily married cause if you're ever divorced, you're getting fleeced.

You literally gave another human being control over your whole finances, a human being who has no obligation to do anything for you and can leave at any time, because you lack impulse control.

You're a few major fights away from being homeless. There are some things everyone should be responsible for their own and have it separate and in a capitalistic society, finances is one of those things.

[–]ThumpingBump 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hold the same advantage, I make over double what she does... she'll struggle without me just as much as I would her, those savings would only last so long covering her expenses for life.

[+][deleted] -8 points-7 points-6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is 100% a pathetic mindset. "LeT mE tHiNk WoRsT cAsE sCeNaRiO 24/7!!!" Imagine defending being an incel in such a way?

[–]ZidaneLoire 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's called responsibility. Don't worry it'll come with age.

[–]ThumpingBump 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Like how I'm getting downvoted on what I personally do.

[–]Frosty-Gate-8094 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Better option.. Do not have a fiance or cohabitation partner at all..

I work 8-9 hrs/day.. Do cleaning and cooking all by myself.. And still have 1 hr for gym and 2 hrs for video games...

Honestly, with modern gadgets, you don't really need someone to do housework for you..

Housework being such-a-burden is a classic feminist myth. Its just a scaring tactic to tell men that they 'need' women. (Newsflash! You don't!).

[–]ThumpingBump 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well... look at single people. Some hiw they manage to do everything.

[–]xsplizzle 39 points40 points41 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

‘If you earn less than your partner because you have a part-time job and spend the rest of your day watching Netflix or playing Xbox, then it might be unrealistic to expect your partner to pick up the tab for everything,’ says Robert Davies, a reltaionship expert at Condoms.co.uk.

‘Equally, if you have a part-time job or even no job because you have young children with your partner, then it may be perfectly reasonable to expect your partner to pay the bills and to foot the tab for date night.’

geeee, i think someone might have a certain bias here, shocking i know.

also, they cant even spell relationship

[–]EsraYmssik 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

tl;dr It's better to not be a dick to your partner about money if you want your relationship to last.

In other news, your dog wants steak.

[–]springy 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I agree with the article. You can't expect a housewife to pay half the bills, for example. So, she contributes by doing the cooking, cleaning, and keeping her husband satified with plenty of bedroom gymnastics. Same with women who choose low paying jobs: they can pay less towards the bills, and make up for it by doing more around the house. And if they don't like housework, they can pay more towards the bills. Giving women choices!

[–]Angryasfk 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah. If a woman earns less she should pay less (or nothing at all), but housework should be 50:50 (at least). That’s feminism.

[+]InfamousBake1859 -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

You make it sound like sex is a chore. That just means the man sucks in bed…

[–]springy 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Or that the woman is bad in bed. I won't use the word "sucks" because most women stop doing that once the wedding ring is on her finer.

[–]InfamousBake1859 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I’m sure you would know if she was bad in bed before you married her.

You didn’t address my point. Why is sex a chore? If it is something that makes her feel good, why wouldn’t she want to have sex?

Your comment here is all about the man… so if married sex is about the man’s pleasure, i’m not surprised why married women don’t want sex anymore.

[–]springy 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No. The time before marriage is the sales presentation, where women put some effort into bedroom gymnastics. After the wedding ceremony, they don't bother, because they already made the sale, so the sexy times stop. Asked pretty much any married guy.

[–]InfamousBake1859 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You stop fail to address my question. Why is sex a chore for women? Because i don’t think of chores as something i enjoy.

[–]springy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah - same with most things - you won't enjoy them unless you start putting some effort in.

[–]InfamousBake1859 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Again, you talk about the woman putting in the effort. Yet you want women to suck men off… which doesn’t require much effort for the man

[–]63daddy 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men work more and earn more than women overall (the pay gap feminists are always complaining about). Women however spend more money than men. In other words, there is a transfer of wealth from men who work more and earn more to women who dined more. Obviously, it’s not equal.

[–]andejoh 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What about sex equity? I suspect wanting more sex than your partner and expecting them to "split the difference" would be considered abusive.

[–]PFfounder 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, feminism

[–]Drayenn 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Tbh me and my gfjust put proportional to salary in a joint account for joint expenses. Everything else stays in my pockets for my own use. Its the fairest/lowest drama method imo. I used to put less than my gf but since i changed majors i put more and have no issues with it.

[–]getoffmyjohnson92 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Smart man

[–]MrStone1 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women should pay all of it, Every date.

I'll stretch to a big mac meal and a few bongs, But if I don't get my dick sucked you can walk home.

[–]traveller1976 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Disgusting article trying to have their cake and eat it to. Soon they'll say the man pays more but it's an equal share. Better not to play the game at all, or if she wants some D she should spend. Goodness knows they're desperate enough nowadays.

[–]nevermock 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can't read it. It's a bunch of fluff that says nothing significant.

[–]xcheshirecatxx 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah my partner wasn't there to split my studies which allow me to make more money

He also fucked someone who is not trustable, and she got pregnant.

I was with a bad person too, my partner didn't pay half of what I lost

I expect to pay for what's my responsibility and he does the same

[–]Potato-with-guns 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It generally isn’t fair to do 50/50. If you have to be a breadwinner for the family regardless of your gender you should obviously pay, but it’s only a fair relationship then if they are unable to work in some way, which includes caring for children or otherwise taking care of home. If you make more you should generally pay more but that’s still circumstacial, based on how much work they put into both earning money and the relationship as a whole.

To summarize, 50/50 is almost never fair, you should base who pays for what on factors like who wanted it, who makes more money, who takes care of home, etc.

[–]slaveknightgael40 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can get defacto pre nups

[–]UnconventionalXY 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why is it fair that someone who works harder (ie gets more income) should subsidise the other person's living "costs" (where costs includes domestic chore labour)?

If that person did not have a partner, there would be no subsidy plus 100% of the costs of living, without any overall saving from the efficiencies of 2 people sharing common overheads. Simply being together reduces costs which should be divided evenly.

It's shared living costs which need to be divided 50/50, not everything: cosmetics and other individual usages don't count. This should also mean that any form of labour needs a cost associated with it, so that tasks don't have to be divided 50/50 as long as the overall cost is.

It gets complicated if one person, for example, likes to keep a fire going 24/7 for their own comfort, but the other person doesn't use the same amount of energy or one person takes hour long showers and the other 3 minutes: it's not possible to correctly apportion costs because there is no individual measure. It can be better estimated though if effort is put into monitoring the differentials, but most people can't be bothered or feel it is splitting hairs.

In my opinion, human beings should live separately except when they need to be together and then they can switch between each dwelling 50/50. This might also work for families where children spend 50/50 in each residence and the other parent stays over if necessary. Being together is too much friction, although it does have some efficiency advantages.

[–]InfamousBake1859 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men don’t-won’t do 50:50 - esp if they plan to have kids

[–]No_Yak_3723 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m currently working full time (as is my husband). Once my husband is done with residency, I plan to move to part time since we want 2 kids until the kids are both in middle school. Then I will resume full time work. This is a sacrifice on my career because once you back down, you cut your current and future earning potentials.

And I say ”sacrifice” career because one of us has to do it. Otherwise, no one would be able to pick the kids up, be there for the kids emotionally (nannies are not a substitute for parenting, in both of our opinions), make it to their concerts/games, drive them around to afterschool activities, etc.

I’m curious… from this group’s prespective… if we got divorced, what would you men think would be fair? - alimony? - Compensation? - asset allocation? - Child custody? (Fyi - He already knows he wouldn’t fight for custody, he has said to me many times “if I raised the kids alone, they would just die… just die. That’s why I have you”) - Child support?

(we have talked over all of these, and we’re making a post nup, on my request, and I’m curious what your thoughts would be)

[–]nacho-chonky 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The only thing I disagree with in that article is how it mentioned that women do the majority of the housework and chores? Since when? I have always had to do more work in relationships than the other way around and it really grinds my gears when they say shit like that

[+]Dickedbythedevil -18 points-17 points-16 points 4 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link

If you make 70% you pay 70%, how is this not obvious?

[permanently deleted]

[+]Dickedbythedevil -12 points-11 points-10 points 4 years ago (28 children) | Copy Link

So youd make your partner who ears less pay as much of your rent, if you get significatly more?

[+]wism951 points 4 years ago* [recovered] (27 children) | Copy Link

Possibly, depending on how much the rent and wages are, why they earn less, and more. There's nothing obvious about it

You split everything equally depending on your pay if you make more you should pay more.

[+]wism951 points 4 years ago* [recovered] (19 children) | Copy Link

If you work 40+ hours and your partner refuses to work more than 20 with no good reason you're going to subsidise them are you?

Well if they’re putting in chores what they don’t in money yes.

Again. If they are doing the chores to make up yes.

[+]wism951 points 4 years ago* [recovered] (15 children) | Copy Link

Again, you're not answering the question because that would be a good reason

[–]BeanBeanBlobe0 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That’s not a reason. 😂😂 a reason is something like being disabled.

[–]sansgasterv2 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That doesn’t sound very equal if one has to pay more

[+]BeanBeanBlobe -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is equal. If you make more you should pay more. You split housework baised on who has the time. Such as if you work 30 hours but make more than your partner who works 40 you’d do a little more chores and if your partner makes less but worked less as well they do more chores. It’s all baised on your situation

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m a teen and my parents do this and it’s very fair for my parents because a lot of times dads don’t even get there kids
