If the guy is able to land dates and get laid regularly whether the women are attract or not leads me to believe thats he’s very attractive especially on a dating app that is both superficial and has a disproportionate user base.

To some extent that is probably true. You can't derive someones exact attractiveness score but if a guy regularly get laid on Tinder with average or better women it's probably safe to say he is above average.

Physical attractiveness sure. However, I get laid way more than guys who have way more matches on OLD... I’ve been called a reverse catfish as I’m better than what they were expecting? And I guess my personality is sexy (inverse of Reddit I guess)... but I really don’t like OLD cuz the chicks there (mostly) suck big time in one way, shape, or form...

You can reverse engineer a profile's attractiveness and someone's messaging skills from success on Tinder—provided they also just want casual sex. But if you have suboptimal photos or can't be fucked to message in a way that converts to dates, you get false negatives on your attractiveness.

And it's still not perfect because of gender imbalances. In my experience the first few times I approached attractive women IRL after using Tinder for a long time I almost didn't trust how easy it was by comparison. That's how much esteem-crushing the apps have for guys.

To an extent. Photo quality and status play a large factor. Someone who is attractive in real life and bad at taking photos/non photogenic will have quite a bad time on Tinder.

A man taking a good picture isn’t only thing that influences women. We all know a woman who dates ugly or shitty men despite having many options. Not all women choose men rationally.
