It appears to me that many BP people who lurk here and especially the ones who post sparingly, typically disagree with the alpha/beta dichotomy in and of itself.

I posit that alpha/beta archetypes are simply used as shorthand for the ability to rise to the top of any situational dominance hierarchy, social or economical.

We observe many species of animals who naturally form dominance hierarchies. From lab rats:

I would argue that just because humans have cognitive abilities and can often out-maneuver our biological tendencies, doesn't mean we can fully escape our true biological nature.

Do you observe blues often disagreeing with the alpha/beta dichotomy, and in what way? Do you think that the tendency for disagreement with dominance hierarchies is a product of their often 'just world' leftist philosophy?
