Googling "internalized misogyny" returns this quote at the top of its results:

Women who experience internalized misogyny may express it through minimizing the value of women, mistrusting women, and believing gender bias in favor of men.

This definition of internalized misogyny is mostly an external reaction. This seems to me to be a bit of a misnomer, since it doesn't involve necessarily how women view themselves so much as how they view other women. So yes, it's internal, but it's expressed externally.

With men I believe that internalized sexism is more personal, so I'd like the responses to focus more on that aspect of it.

General questions:

Have you ever held yourself in low regard because you were a male, or because of natural experiences that are associated with men? Have you ever felt personally disgusted with yourself for feeling certain ways? Have you ever second guessed a personal accomplishment because you are male and got an unfair advantage?

On the positive side, have you ever received explicit positive attention just because you were male? When was the last time someone said something positive to you, or appreciated you just for who you were? Broadening it, how about a positive thing said based on an accomplishment?

Targeted questions:

Have you ever stifled a natural male desire, like that of wanting to lead, care for, and provide for a family, because that sounded misogynistic to you? Have you ever taken abuse without response from someone you were told was disadvantaged (mental or physical)? Have you felt selfish for wanting to ask girls out, or desiring companionship? Do you attribute desires for companionship as nothing more than a desire for sex, and therefore trivialize them?

Spill your hearts out, men. None of the women reading this are going to go out with you anyways, so this is a safe space to express things that make women find you really unattractive.
