I was inexperienced with girls. Read seduciton/TRP subreddits looking for advice. Improved myself. Gained confidence and dating experience. But now I am afraid of serious relationships/marriage because of the idea that 'they'll turn into a nag once they trap you', 'sex suddenly stops after marriage', or 'divorce will eventually ruin your life/finances'.

If I tell girls that I don't think I want to get married, I lose them. If I don't tell them, I feel like I'm being dishonest and wasting their time by dragging them into a serious relationship I know won't result in marriage, and have wasted her youth. So now I'm mostly alone again because I am afraid of long term relationships.

Even though I dipped my toes in TRP for the self-improvement advice, I can't shake some of the other beliefs I've read and internalized about how commitment/marriage is a con for men. But I'm beginning to question that. After all, all the men in my community that I think are great dudes and that I look up to are married, and to great women it seems. It's usually the dude that has something off about him that are single. Also, I'm not I want to the TRP guy in his 30s and 40s who''s wandering and picking off desperate vulnerable women for sex. I'm 27 and already lonely and unfulfilled by casual sex. But I have a lot of doubt about marriage also. It seems like a lose-lose. I feel pessimistic.

Has any married ex-TRPer experienced this dilemma and gained clarity that allowed them to overcome their commitment-phobia?
