Women don't have "weird" or "different" tastes, they often all are attracted by the same things but end up thinking they got weird taste because they don't agree with other women what portion of the 40% most attractive men is actually datable, while agreeing everything else isn't.

Attraction is by definition subjective, it's what you're attracted to. It can be influenced by external influence though. But most of the time it obeys your incentives.

All sexual attraction would probably be intersubjective, meaning that people have a tendency to agree with each other over what is attractive, but there is no independent attractive people that exist outside of opinion.

There is some studies(I do not want to pull them up right now) that suggest women have a wider variety of taste than men do. Assuming this is accurate, women probably disagree on who and who is not attractive far more than men do.

I legitimately don't know how you would measure attractiveness across gender lines, but in my experience men tend to be less hygienic than men, which I'm willing to say is a widespread turn-off.

Why men seem less hygienic than women is a complicated question, because it involves biological differences and web of social expectations.

Beyond that, I really just avoid discussions about objectively rating people's attractiveness.

Males tend to be more attracted to females on average than women are. Women do fall in love and get butterflies in their stomachs towards certain guys it's alot more rare than guys. Guys to alot of women are undateable until proven otherwise.

An even better way to phrase it is whether men or women have a more uniform standard for someone they find physically attractive (or unattractive).

From my perspective, women's standards are more uniform. Rollo Tomassi has outlined this. Most women really like the same kind of male physique, more or less. Trim, fit, athletic build, lower body fat. Defined musculature but not roided out jacked bodybuilder. Masculine looking face. V shaped body, broad shoulders, narrow waist. Think Michelangelo's David.

But men think all kinds of female body types can be physically attractive. They don't all have to fit within one body type. Whatever body type a woman has, there's some group of guys out there that find it physically attractive.

I think there's a bottom percentage of people from both sexes that are objectively unattractive,

but otherwise, a lot of it is subjective and people tend to date their looksmatch (and a lot of people look like they have similar features to their partner, if the couple is from the same race/ethnicity)

Lots of people look similar to each other, aka average

So they'd pick a person based off their attitude, circumstance, etc.

This says nothing about men's and women's preferences. Men are, on average, just ugly. Women are more beautiful.

For thousands of years men have selected what woman will have their children. His face did not matter, what mattered is that he is bigger and stronger or has more resources and power than other men. Arranged marriages, women being property, rape. Whatever, the women did not have much choice of who fathered their children. Facial attractiveness for men has never been a selection pressure for men until Tinder.

Most women just deal, and get with dudes that are uglier than they are. If 80% of guys are not attractive to 80% of women, what else can be done?

What is the result of this however? Men always go for the hottest women. This means their daughters are going to be MORE attractive than the average woman. Over time, women will continue to become more beautiful.

If tinder sticks around and everyone stopped dating in person, then men would start to become more beautiful over many generations. Yeah, those incels, they are ugly, and they will not have kids, and ugly men will die off. Sorry. We are coming up on a generation of men that will languish and die without procreating.

Men rate women in a normalized distribution. Women rate men as mostly ugly with a small group of average around the 20th percentile with the top few percent as hot.

I believe women have an evolutionary lens present within their brain which impairs subjective analysis.

It is in evolution's interests for women to see most men as unattractive.
