It's contextual to the situation and your own morals.

RP itself, being amoral, wouldn't take a stance on the morality or not of lying. It would tell you what works and what doesn't, and if lying works it will tell you that. RP is not moral/immoral it is amoral. Only people acting out in the real world are moral/immoral depending on their actions and your view of them.

So... RPM/RPWs can be moral/immoral... but RP is amoral itself.

RP is very clear about this stuff. Your morals are up to you, and you should only do what you are personally morally comfortable with in your moral universe. Whether you are, or want to, lie is up to you.

As to my own personal position... Yes, lying is acceptable in certain situations. I think any human can broadly agree that. The difference between us all is what scenario's are acceptable and what are not, and I generally make my own decisions there.

In practice, this makes me extremely honest. Both at work, and at home, and in other spheres. I am a firm believer that in almost all situations honesty is the best policy for me but I can't guarantee that for other guys. I've found that a lot of the arguments made by the radical honesty crowd make a lot of sense for me, but people are generally very forgiving of tall, attractive, masculine looking white guys being honest.

I can't honestly believe anyone is going to try and hold the deontological line that "lying is a priori unacceptable/immoral". That just... insane. There are always scenarios where it is perfectly acceptable, and even easily the most moral course, to lie. The question is where you put those lines.

An RP perspective would be more like: "lying can achieve these goals but will have these drawbacks", it is a cold calculus and it is up to the individual if they want to go down that path

Lying has a lot of drawbacks for the liar. If you're prone to lie often, you'll eventually start lying to yourself. This can cause catastrophic things to occur in your life (addiction, no authentic relationships, inability to introspect). We all lie from time to time, but IMO people should be more careful about it.

As for lying in the sexual market? A lot of "lying" comes from answering unfair or impossible questions. A lot of girls use emotional blackmail to try and guilt guys into situations they don't want to be in. In these situations, I would say be honest with yourself and don't negotiate with terrorists.

Lying is beta, if you need an excuse you are doing it wrong.

You don't have to lie that you got cool stuff to do, you need to have got to do cool stuff.

If she is not cool with something which would require you to lie, why not next her?

Just apply your own moral compass to the situation, if someone lies don't be a moral fag he was cool with it, you have your morals and he has his. Mind your own business. Sexual strategy is amoral.

We'll tell you to lie to a girl and say that you're not a virgin when you are, that you're super busy when you aren't, that you've banged 30 girls when you haven't, or that you're 6'2" when you're 5'2".

We'll also tell you not to lie and say you're exclusive with her when you aren't and shit like that. Just like you, we'll tell harmless lies that don't hurt anyone but we're not trying to hurt people for fun. Most of us aren't anyway.

I know anti-RP people have this as one of their key fears about RP: RPs are going to lie to women in some way (they can never specify HOW) and trick them into sleeping with them. Well that isn't how it works. A man is either attractive or he isn't. You aren't going to tell a girl something and logically convince her into sleeping with you, like some sort of shady business transaction.

It's like a restaurant, the food is either appetizing or it isn't. If the cooks do something to make it taste/smell better, that isn't lying or mainipulitng, that's literally improving their product and making it more desirable.

You can lie to a girl in a lot of ways, but you can't really lie to her and make her attracted to you.

If the lying is to enhance qualities about yourself which themselves shows dubious attraction parameters from the women, then I'm perfectly fine with it. I.e., if woman asks you how much money you earn, say 300k/year; if she asks you what kind of car you drive, by all means say Porsche. If she asks you if you are married, want children, have AIDS, then nope - don't lie. Also for all the shorties in here, if she asks you how tall you are, just put a few inches on top. Girls are lousy at estimating height anyway. They also lie about their weight and number of sex partners, etc. so no biggie.
