If you're going to judge TRP by one odd FR and that several guys were busting his balls in the comments, then you're missing the point.

IN some ways TRP mimics the forming up, growing up experience a lot of guys didn't get while coming up as younger guys. In a lot of ways TRP mimics or substitutes for a real life training experience guys aren't getting. They don't get it in real life so they have to come online for it. In real life, guys who know each other bust each others' balls. It's teasing and "shit testing", only done with each other. It's part of forming up guys, to see what they can take, to toughen them up, to get them to take shit and give some shit too. It's what guys do, it's part of what brings men in and keeps other men out. It's part of being a man; and being part of a group of men.

There are some men who aren't getting formed up correctly; or men who didn't get formed up as younger men and who come to TRP to get what they should have gotten as younger men.

Well, this thread is a grade A example of the selective perceptions of bluepillers, but at least you had the decency to link the actual thread. D minus.

the guy makes a post that's basically a waste of space and time of anyone who reads it.
someone calls him out on it, and, while harsh, isn't inaccurate ("This is the most cringe worthy crap I've read in a long time. Let us know how puberty goes for you.")
he insults him back. ("How's the wheelchair I put you in working out for you, asshole?")
his critic retorts in best "ur mom"-fashion ("It's working great, thanks. I gave your mom a ride and then she took a ride in the wheelchair. She thoroughly enjoyed both. ")
he comes with his pity party and another insult on top. ("My mother's been in a coffin for 20-odd years, buddy, I don't think she can enjoy any ride from anyone, you insensitive, dickless, bastard").
then someone calls for his ban. Again, not without reason.

So, let's recap - OP was called out on making a shitty post without mincing words. Basically, he got what was coming to him (which anyone who regularly reads TRP would expect). But instead of taking it in stride or at least offering a nice comeback he makes even more of an idiot out of himself, and only digs deeper. From his demeanor it's clear that he either is only there to troll or, if he's sincere, far too dumb for any sort of discussion.

It's fascinating to me how you reversed the order of things in that conversation. Here's what you said:

But wait, here's the actual order that things actually happened in:

OP posts something a bit cringeworthy.
poster criticizes OP.
OP says he put critic in a wheelchair
critic responds, "[the wheelchair's] working great, thanks. I gave your mom a ride and then she took a ride in the wheelchair." An admittedly juvenile response, but not remotely what you claimed.

Can any blue pillers help me understand how it is that you guys see that (again, admittedly juvenile) exchange and twist it into, (1) mother dies (2) someone insults his dead mother

Also, my favorite, favorite part of all this is the confirmation bias going on. You blue pillers had to skip over the good advice that OP got, specifically, the comment by /u/thiasus which points out that OP's relationship has an inappropriate imbalance. That's good advice. There'd be a lot less frustration in the world if all men took that advice to heart. There'd be a lot less of the "but I'm a nice guy" whining that you blue pillers hate so much, if all men took that advice.

But no, you skip right the fuck over that. You scroll down to OP being an asshole, and someone replying with a "your mom" joke, and you concoct this thoroughly twisted narrative in your head. Typical blue piller. This explains about 90% of the criticism of TRP. The problem is you.

Bonus: how often do blue pillers come to this sub with their panties in a bunch over phrases like "hamster?" The blue pill hates that word so much that they've made it their background. Blue pillers think, "TRP calls women hamsters!" and they get so, incredibly angry about it. Well, /u/thiasus's comment tells OP (a male) that he is "hamstering."

Wouldn't it be great if some blue piller would see that and think, "oh wow, all this time I've been so angry at TRP because I thought they were calling women hamsters, but actually, 'hamster' means 'post-hoc rationaliztion' and TRP admits that men do it as well! Some of my animosity toward TRP has been misplaced!"

I read it...it is ridiculous. I don't know if it is a troll post, but the OP's responses further down don't exactly show him to be a "level-headed" user. They highlighted that he hasn't formatted it properly and he responds in an aggressive manner. The most upvoted post is not the one about his deceased mom but about squats and some radio silence.

In fact, many of the responses are highlighting that he should read the info on the sidebar, which seems fair. He would know how to format his post properly. As for OP's view that: "I contend that TRP is just a fancy name for putting others down".

Just because he posted there doesn't mean he is beyond criticism. The criticism on the sub is quite harsh, but they're at least explaining what he did wrong and how to fix it. Yes, some of them are jerks, but the OP isn't helping either. His attitude and responses are not exactly mature.

If you are "not getting TRP" maybe you could read the sidebar as well?

You know what's funny? Linguistic peculiarities.

Take me for example, I'm an ESL. So whenever I read someone's posts and he uses strange, unfamiliar or otherwise rare idioms, I notice them. And I also notice them when I read them someplace else.

I'm a bloke, and, as a bloke, I routinely cock up in others' eyes when it comes to romance/emotions/love/sex/whatever.

So now that might have been a strange coincidence, but my curiosity was piqued. Well, first, the guy is probably a liar - while over at TRP he claimed that his mother has been dead for 20 years, which he didn't mention in his other parent-related posts. In fact, he even said that he interacted with his parents was at the age of 22, which doesn't go well with his other claims (him having been 35 a year ago). Also, his random insults in the most recent thread don't go well with his general writing style. I.e. it's pretty likely he's a troll.

It's also pretty likely you are one as well because you're writing both for asktrp (among other RP-themed subs) as well as TBP, where you spend your reddit time bashing redpillers. Apart from other inconsistencies in your posting history (like you going to an all boys-school one time, and to an American school in Pakistan with your sister the next, or losing your v-chip at 16 but not getting a GF until 24/25 etc.).

Also a few other interesting points.

you both post in the pillsphere (both post at asktrp, purplepilldebate, redpillwomen, TRP, marriedredpill and with this one TBP as well), as well as /r/raisedbynarcissists, which is quite the combo
both your accounts experience occasional bouts of usage only to go back to hibernation for several months at a time, and seem to be for infrequent posting only
you both are of the same age (36 now), both of you are using specific British idioms
did I mention I think both of you are trolls?

But it reminds me of what they say about lying - it's exhausting because you always have to keep track of what lies you came up with in the first place.

lessons learned: next time make more extensive accounts I can't browse in 15 minutes.

TRP has gotten ban happy. I got banned for simply questioning their ban-happy-ness. And I subscribe to many RP truths.

They are quickly going off the deep end.
