There are many instances today where women are objectified and people don’t realise it.
Many people today assume objectification is something which disadvantages women. They assume objectification occurs like it did in the past where women were just seen as objects with nothing else to offer but their bodies. However times have changed. Objectification has not gone away it has simply adapted to the times.
Today women are both objectified like in the past but have their other traits added to their value. Essentially women are valued for what they are and what they can do.
Sure this benefits women as they now get value from two sources (one more than men) but is this really fair? While women have the same advantages and are known to be just as smart as men people still value a woman more than a man that can do the same things. Inherently people assume the woman has worked harder to get where she is.
A woman becoming a doctor is admired for her perceived perseverance. As of being a woman is some how a disability.
While women readily embrace the benefits of equality afforded to them by modern times, they still hold onto the expectations of the past.
A woman in a successful job still expects to marry a more successful husband.
It seems wrong… almost hypocritical. What are your thoughts on this? (Open to anyone)

And yet most of the US is struggling to eat and pay rent even though men and women are working What your talking about it’s cute but men cannot afford to support wives and children anymore No disrespect I know life is hard but I’ve met a lot of dudes who had the opportunity to make something of themselves but chose the easy/broke way. They don’t want to do the hard work anymore and it’s not fair to them to break their backs for minimum wage. Men aren’t going to college anymore they’re not doing trades anymore idk what they’re doing You can’t tell women not to work when it’s the only way to eat These guys can’t support a housewife They just cannot

If being a housewife back then was so great why did women oppose it. Men tend to naturally abuse their power It’s great to be a housewife and have a family but it’s good to be happy too and a lot of women weren’t Men like to say this is not true but this is from the accounts of women from that time And minority women still had to work during that time they’ve always had to work A lot of dudes these days do not even demonstrate the ability to lead themselves let alone a family. They do not even try to make enough to take care of themselves It’s no point in striving for a family anymore The young guys and older men think exactly the same They are led by their penises and nothing more

I’m sorry but it sounds like you just have a massive disdain for women Anything that doesn’t fit your ideal of how things should be or challenges that is not just not true to you Saying whatever women went through or complained of is fabricated is really dismissive
You want women to agree to being led by broke men who are being led by their dicks That makes no sense In your mind the women should be submissive first in order for the man to become a good leader That won’t work and women won’t go for that these days Men need to become good leaders first that will encourage women to submit Your list of to dos for a woman looks like giving up a whole lot for almost nothing if I’m being honest. If I’m going to give up my autonomy to a man give up the luxury lifestyle I’ve created for myself give up my opinions and sacrifice This man needs to know what he’s doing I cannot allow myself to be dragged around by an aimless man with no plan no leadership skills no education and really no respect for me as a person

Women aren't valued for what they are. No one is. When we talk abut objectification, they're valued for things men desire and can get out of them. Mostly sex and validation. Being objectified isn't beneficial and being downsides even if not especially when a woman decides to take advantage of it. Men not viewing you as a whole person is a bad thing, it brings all sort of sexual harassment and violence as well as condescension and disdain.
There are lots of double standards, sure. Some of them work in favor of women, some against them. Yes, women are admired for achieving success. They're also called neglectful mothers, often have to do more chores and childcare, or get accused in getting a promotion because they're women/because they've slept with their boss or something.
Social norms take far more time to change than we'd like them to. A lot of women do expect their partners to make more than they do, but lots of men still expect women to do more chores around the house and be the ones who take a hit into their career when there are kids on the picture. It's clear that these expectations are tied together and they have deep roots in our society, it's hard to just shake them off. Times are changing and social norms will keep slowly changing as well. Already a third of married women outearn their partners. Men do more chores and childcare than previous generations. There are far more educated women than there used to be. So I guess we can hope for the best.
