As a minority none of the advice about grooming, showering, having women as friends work, they nope you based on immutable traits alone.

To clarify, you of course mean that all these things are still required to get a girlfriend, but just not sufficient on their own, right?

Absolutely, it applies to women too. The 'manic pixie girl' trope exists for a reason - neurotypical people see us as a breath of fresh air temporarily but would struggle to form a long and meaningful connection. In the end the 'normies' would gravitate towards someone more grounded or ordinary.

The good news is that autistic wierdos of both genders exist and we can easily find each other with technology and real life events based on common interests.

Grooming includes trends, local in time and space. The artistic guy would 100% slay if he were just a little sun-kissed. Artistic, sunkissed Country boy? Lots of women love that.

I think you are prescribing a trait to these artsy and nerdy folks when you're imagining this. That they're a bit asocial. A bit socially anxious. A bit autistic. And this is the remaining thing, the core tautology. Having social disabilities gives you a disability in socially critical situations.

This debate can be a bit funny because it deals with the sometimes arbitrary division between normies vs. the atypical and where to draw that line.

I fondly remember a debate meltdown where an autist-traits person claimed he dated, but only ever within his very particular interest spaces, which were also riddled with other neurologically varied people.

The NTs(presumably) were much offended. This guy first of all stereotyped most other peoples as "normies" and pre-rejected the possibility to ever connect and be understood by such a person.

That hits a nerve, because he pre-diagnosed people as fundamentally unable. NTs don't get to answer the question for themselves. He answered for them.

That caught him accusations of being prejudiced, misogynist, gatekeeping nerd spaces, and other such fun.

But the deeper question is salient. Do we believe in neurotypical, more ordinary people's ability to love a person on the autism spectrum of do we not?

Apparently it was offensive to answer with a clear "No" from the other end.

Women are not a monolith. I am on the spectrum and I have dated a man on the spectrum, with unconventional looks, a usual sense of style and specific interests. It was a great relationship. He also had trouble finding women who liked his vibe.

Finding a partner organically is pretty successful for such people. If you're engaging with people on an individual, personal level, you're more likely to find someone where you fit each other's taste.
