As a single man I can only talk based on my experience with single moms: Their biggest issue is lack of proper self-assessment

Single mother fail in the SMP by pricing them way high. IME they make a list of all they want for the kid(s) car, money, recreation, health insurance etc then convert it into a requirement list a man must deliver if such man hopes to date her because, here comes the gold, she being single "deserves all that" and don't forget those who withhold sex more than a childless woman

Properly assessing oneself SMV and bring something to the tablet improves odds and makes them easier to date but I don't see me or any other man jumping to deliver her list to clean up her mess. Rarely a single mother looks for an actual partner

My dating is (was) mostly confined to the 6 weeks my kids go to their grandparents during the summer. It's like my rut in a way, eat, sleep, work, and then go on the prowl. But dating when they're home, while trickier, isn't overly difficult. Just have a solid group of sitters and friends and you're set.

I primarily used OLD to find chicks and I had the fact that I am a widowed father of two as literally the first line of my profile. I don't how many matches that prevented, but those that remained were more than enough to line up dates every weekend and eventually to find the chick I'm with now....

Honestly it's not much different.

Broke up with kids dad and dated around, met someone after five months. I introduced him to daughter after we dated four three months (wanted it to be longer, but didn't have much childfree time to date back then).

After she knew him for a bit, I asked her how she felt about him living with us and she was enthusiastic about it. We shared rent but kept most our finances separate. He played with my daughter and occasionally took her for days out but most the responsibility was on me and her father (who had her one or two nights a week).

We sadly broke up after dating for 3.5 years.He over worked himself which led to addiction and serious mental health problems. A shame.

Since then I've been enjoying being single but started to have a regular fuck buddy for eight months. (Couldn't really sleep around due to covid).

He now wants to get serious but I'm umming and ahhing about it. I don't want to introduce another boyfriend to my daughter and for her to get upset if we ever split up.

So really, finding a relationship is really easy, but navigating what's best for your child is the hard part. Basically you don't want your child to attach themselves your partner, and then for you to break up. They obviously miss that person and it's not really fair on them.

Well I'm not a parent, I'll just throw in my thoughts on dating a single mother, I actually don't have a problem dating a single mother but there has to be certain caveats,

The child has to be at an age where they can stay at home by themselves

What the relationship with the baby's father is a big determining Factor, if it's one of those rare cases where everybody's on good terms in that family and the split was as amicable as possible, that's awesome, but I'm not introducing crazy baby daddy drama into my life, if she was widowed that might be a tough one, but those kind of questions excetera excetera

kids I didn't raise
having to coordinate our lives around kids I didn't raise

In my social circle single parents are nearly non-existent so it wouldn't be that hard to avoid single dads.

I'm a childless woman, and my last relationship was with a divorced dad. It was an extremely difficult experience, and I have zero interest in dating a parent again (unless I happen to be a divorced or widowed mom one day). Otherwise I'd rather be single than deal with any of that drama and heartache again.

Parents need to learn to balance the needs of their kids with the needs of their partner. It's complicated, and oftentimes, the new partner gets the short straw because it's simply easier to accommodate either the kids or the ex as it's the path of least resistance. A parent needs to have extremely firm boundaries, and most seem incapable of doing that. Whenever my ex's ex-wife said jump, he'd immediately say "how high, and how often?" My feeling were always dead last to be considered, even when we were living together. Stepparents are often seen as evil villains, but they're often the ones who are sacrificing their feelings for the greater good for kids who aren't theirs and who might not even treat them with respect.

It's certainly not impossible to date as a parent, but you need to be realistic, understanding, caring, and mature if you want a successful relationship. Most people can't hack it. There's a good reason 73% of remarriages with children end in divorce.

I like children, but man..... there's something about being around them all the time that saps the energy right out of you just thinking about it, and the parents usually aren't much better. I think the majority are unfit to be parents in their present condition but had them anyway.

I would love to meet a single dad to date but in practice most are not great dads so I haven't moved forward with any of them. Just a weird thing to see right away.

I was dating a divorcee with two children. She asked me to be there when her ex came by to pick up the kids for the weekend. I agreed. As with all things child related, she was late in having the children ready to leave. The ex was sitting nicely in his car listening to the radio. I figured I would be polite and accompany him while he was waiting. It would also be a good chance to get to know the person I would be involved with if things went well with my girlfriend. He was super nice. We did some small talk and he left with the kids.

I was proud of myself. I thought I had handled it perfectly. Boy was I wrong. My girlfriend gave me the silent treatment, which turned into her yelling and eventually locking herself in the bathroom crying. Apparently I was supposed to intimidate and/or fight her ex over her. The fact that I didn't meant I didn't love her. I must love her ex more than her and I should go date him instead. Needless to say, we didn't stay together much longer after that.

This is, by far, the nicest thing I have to say about single mothers and divorcees.

Well it’s important to know Dating does not mean LTR or marriage.

I dated a single mom once over the course of a month and a half. I never saw her kid and I might have spent 30 dollars combined over the course of that month on her. We went out maybe one time and the rest of the time was pretty much Netflix and chill.

I would never seriously date someone with kids though, I don’t really want kids myself much less raising someone else’s.

Single moms are decent if you're an AFC who doesn't really give AF and know how to use a condom.

Typically the single moms you can pull as a normal dude are way hotter than the other women you can pull, IME

It has an expiration date though, something like 2-3 months, at a certain point there is no disentangling the fact that one of you has children and the other doesn't.

Some of the most enjoyable STRs I've had were with single moms tho

I have nieces, nephews, and close friends with kids — I have no idea how single parents have either the will or the energy to date. Or at least date responsibly

If they're just interested in sex and occasional night out AND they have some kind of support network to take care of the kid it's fine. No support network and you'll rarely see them.

If they want a serious relationship they should be looking at single fathers. I've seen way too many women trying to push getting a serious relationship with a single childless guy from the start. Date other single parents if you want that.
