2: you can't just accept all studies. That would be completely illogical, when there are so many conflicting ones.

Does this include studies that don't say what the poster claims? Like "women find tall men attractive therefore the 80/20 rule is real?"

Or blog posts that are presented as studies?

People often ask for studies when they actually just dont agree, and all the studies in the world wouldn't convince them otherwise. Its usually the really naive people who think they can have no argument other than their opinion who ask for studies. Much of this stuff can just be googled. And most of the time the opinion of the person asking for the study could just look it up themselves. It's just a way to avoid personal accountability as if this was a IEEE or proper educational citation.

Besides reporting the comment for irrelevancy, you can also just stop responding to the thread if you're in it.
That's not how studies work. If I made a "study" where I asked my 10 male friends a question, and then uploaded that article somewhere, that's not a real, peer-reviewed study that can actually back the argument. In the same vein, just because a study is old doesn't mean it's not valid. I don't think quoting things is worth being a whole rule, but I agree that it's helpful.

We need to get over the fact that almost all studies are flawed/funded in such a way that results are generally skewed toward affirming the status quo, or at least a palatable narrative.

Not to mention, most of the subjects discussed here don’t lend themselves well to studies, particularly when it comes to subconscious thought and social dynamics.

There is happening a lot of derailing in discussions, people unironically go in a thread and never ever are actually talk about the core question. Derailing is a toxic discussion tactic and shouldt be allowed

On one hand I agree with you. The last couple of times I tried to debate blue pillers they would continually ignore my main point and start ranting about something else. It immediately wasn't worth trying to debate with them.

On the other hand there used to be a no derailing rule here but it was way overenforced to where it became a bit of a meme. You'd sometimes have entire threads where even relevant counter-arguments would be removed by mods and almost every comment was 'removed for derailing'. The rule was too sort of subjectively enforced.
