Because, making 60k isn't the same everywhere. It is a difference whether you make 60k in USA or 60k in Russia (just an example). Or do you all convert your money into Dollars or Euros? But even then, costs are different in each country, you cannot simply convert what you make in Rubles into Dollars and compare that to someone who lives in USA and earns Dollars.
