So i recently got into a long distance relationship with someone ive liked for quite a while. They used to be in a relationship years ago so we stopped talking for abit but reconnected. He was so sweet but wasnt looking for a long distance relationship bc of the spot hes in mentally and with his uni degree (engineering).

But yet even when i moved away we kept talking and he basically asked me to be his gf but i could decide when we would be together and he would try to move near me for the job he has next year.

I would say he pays for my food like every other time or maybe less… its hard to tell because we just became a thing and since have only seen each other once. I travelled like 2 hours to see him (and also visit home) and was super hungry yet i still paid for my own burger which was pretty cheap tbh. Idk i guess hes maybe never had a job? Idk if he gets allowance from his parents or something.

But its making me insecure especially since my friend sort of cringed at it (my girl friends in their mid20s and still dating tbf), but some of my friends r like its fine. Is this normal like as broke college students idk? Im in grad school so im in debt too.
