Hi ladies,

I've been in a LTR with a wonderful gentleman for the last three years. On the surface everything is wonderful, he's an amazing person, we get along extremely well, almost never argue. Saddly we face two major issues: a 32 years age gap (I'm 24, he's 56), and religion (he's Jewish and I was raised without religion, although I've always felt very close to Gd). I've met his family and they're very nice, non judgemental people, and he's going to meet my family soon. If we could marry tomorrow, the age gap wouldn't worry me too much, the issue is that at the moment we can't because of problem number 2. I do want to convert to Judaism, and will most probably convert regardless of my relationship with this man. The problem is that an orthodox conversion lasts a minimum of two years, and I'm not even sure if an orthodox rabbi will accept to marry us because my boyfriend, being a Cohen, is not allowed by Jewish Law to marry a convert.

If an orthodox rabbi allows me to marry him, he'll be a first time father at 60. Is that really reasonable ? I do want several children, but I'm scared they'll be raised without a father which as we know, if far from ideal. I'm turning 25 in the next weeks, and more than ever I really feel the burning desire to start a family, waiting two more years in uncertainty is really hard on me. At the same time I can't imagine having a family or marry with another person. It is such a difficult situation. We've broken up last year because of those reasons, but went back together after a month.

What are your opinions on this ?

Thank you very much
