For organizing I like the dollar store (and stores like it) and Ross. For cooking and cleaning, I have found some really good low cost ideas on Pinterest, but I buy my cleaner and a large refill for it which is much cheaper too. I usually buy my meats in bulk and freeze to use later.

For decorating, we use our personal stuff, like hang his instruments on the walls and our photos. I’m also a photographer and put my pictures up as well. We each have our own space to do what we want with. I’m not sure if any of this is helpful lol

For cooking, our tastes differ greatly, so we meal prep every Sunday and cook our own meals for the week. This is what works for us right now! When we have kids and I stay at home, this might change, but I prefer bland foods and he loves flavor and variety.

If you can afford it, invest in some high quality cooking supplies you will be able to keep for years. I got several cast iron pans during a sale on amazon. They last forever and I use them almost every night! It seems counter intuitive, but buying cheap stuff can end up being expensive, because you have to replace it regularly.

If you're looking for affordable wall decor, try buying digital art and getting a local printer to print it. Saves a ton and you will be able to print the art as many times as you want!

This will get downvoted to hell but I'm a firm believer in not living with a man until there is a ring on your finger, and not being a homemaker for a man who cannot afford to make you a home. I personally do not present red-pilled to men who cannot afford to take care of me more than comfortably.

For decorations, THRIFT STORES. Not only is buying second hand better for the environment, but you can find some awesome things there. Some of the ones near me will have a ton of fake flowers and wreaths. I'm picky with mine, but still have a bunch of seasonal bouquets that have all cost less than like $7 each and last forever. There are usually a TON of cooking stuff there as well!

For food, look at online ads. I love Sprouts because they usually have more produce on sale and cheaper than our Kroger owned stores. Oh, and their weekly ads overlap on Wednesdays :) I also go to Natural Grocers, but mostly because I like their clearanced produce and it's cheapest for my meat and dairy alternatives (though I dont often)

I eat out MAYBE once a week, so I cook a lot. I dont own any cookbooks though, just pinterest and internet searches. That's less to own, less money to spend.

Great that you're on a budget-- a crucial foundation for meeting goals. I would organize a pantry, and include lots of dry herbs and spices and beans and grains. Learn to soak your beans and grains ahead of time and cook with them- it's healthier and cheaper.

At TJ Maxx, you can find 5 lbs of sea salt for about $6. Best deal by far, and great if you're into prepping. You can also find pure castile soap there-- 32 oz for $6.99, as opposed to the $16.99 Dr. Bronner's.

Homemaking is a skill that you develop over many years. So don't worry if it's hard at first.

Also you don't need to do everything at once. Start small and work your way up.

You will need a proper cookbook buy a used one on ebay.

Get into dumpster diving. If you're lucky you won't need to buy clothes any more. Otherwise just shop at thrift stores obv.

You can make your own liquid hand soap, cleaning spray, laundry detergent, and dishwasher detergent. Saves you a lot of money.

Learn to be efficient with cooking and cleaning. It comes with practice. Just keep at it.

Obv don't eat out, stay away from ready made meals and such. Don't use make up and hair products.

Get in shape and stay in shape. You won't be able to run the home if you're tired all the time.

Decorating? Look for free furniture that people give away. Or buy used for cheaps.

I was raised in a very traditional family by a 'victorian style' mother, so was skilled in various household tasks from early childhood. It was taught to me on the assumption that I would get married fairly young and have a big family like my own mother/grandmother, and therefore things like managing a household budget and being able to save a ton of money by creating/repairing items myself would be essential. My family are also very much against debt, so avoiding it (especially early on) neccessitates skills that would probably seem a bit pointless to the average modern consumer. If you are young and broke, but can't use debt, and something breaks, you can't just buy a replacement on credit card and pay it off later like many people do. You either go without (which sucks), learn to build/fix the item yourself, or make sure you have a constant reserve of money through various means to cover these situations.

In your case, I would say the initial focus should be learning basic accounting and running your personal finances like a small business. If you aren't bringing in a lot money yourself right now, then learn how to manage and invest the money your partner makes in order to max out your income.

Second, I would focus on cooking (since everyone has to eat and food costs for the average family can massively vary in price depending on how savvy you are). Learn which cuts of meat are cheaper and how to properly cook them (cheaper cuts are generally only cheaper because they take a bit of skill to transform into a meal). Get friendly with your local butcher and ask for his advice - they tend to be a wealth of knowledge!

Third, I would advise you learn basic tailoring skills. It will save you a bomb in clothing over your lifetime and allows you to adjust existing clothing or design/construct perfectly fitting items that are exactly what you want. Never pay out for labels or high end fashion (unless they are paying you for the free marketing). In 99% of cases, it is a complete waste of money. If you see something you like that's £300 retail, buy the material and learn to make it yourself. As with butchers, fabric stores (especially the smaller, family-owned variety) will be very happy to give you extra advice on how to cut and construct items. There's also a ton of free information and patterns online these days (as with most things).
