What is the problem, and what do you think is the root of the issue? I've been seeing someone who I really like and I feel like there is potential for us to become a serious couple. However, I'm a traditional woman and feel that the man should take the lead during the "courtship" phase. Up until now, we've been splitting responsibility (paying for/planning dates, etc.) because we wanted to get to know each other as friends before getting serious. Now that I see this could work out - we have a lot in common and share similar plans for the future - I would like him to "step up" in a sense.

How have you contributed/attempted to mitigate the problem? I want to talk to him about it, but I don't know how to bring it up without sounding like a gold-digger. We've been very open from the start, neither of us would run and hide from a "difficult" question. So I know deep down I have nothing to worry about. But I'd like to figure out the best way to phrase it before bringing it up.

What are your ages, relationship status, time together? Me: 25F, him: 25M. Met 1 month ago and dating since.

Thanks for your help!
