If anyone needs a last-minute, or just delicious, dessert, these stuffed strawberries take about five minutes and taste delicious!

I love these mega threads! Can't wait to hear how everyone is celebrating! Also, not deserving of its own post, but my husband and I have decided to start trying for a baby! It was a struggle for us to determine whether we wanted one or not, but now that we have, we're both so excited!

We really don't do Valentines, so I will share an anecdote... I had a thumb ring that I had worn forever that an ex had given me, but when I became serious with my husband I stopped wearing it. For our first real valentines together he bought me a new one (Although it was more "I want to buy you a new one and look it is Valentines" rather than "It is Valentines, need to get her something!"). It was a plain white gold band and I wore it every day.

Move forward 10 years, and I lose it. I was heartbroken. He asked me if I remembered where he had gotten it and how much it was. I did. He bought it Kay's Jewelry and was about 50 bucks. He is out with his mom and goes to the jewelry store to get a new one for me. They still had a record of it, so he could get the exact one! He had paid $48.99 for it. So he says "I would like another one". The lady tells him that will be $400.00. Apparently the price of gold has went up in the intervening years.

He told me that was ridiculous and he really didn't want to pay that for a new one, but he would if I really wanted it. I said that was fine and I would just keep an eye out for something more reasonable to replace it. It is kind of a sad story (because I still haven't found a replacement after more than a year) but I love him for the original gift, and the thought he put into getting the next one, and we both find it amusing anecdote that we have shared on and off with other people. It is a us story and I love that.

So far all I've done is get my husband a card from the baby and let the baby make crayon scribbles inside of it. We don't usually do too much for Valentine's but I couldn't resist the cuteness of him handing his Daddy a card that he "wrote" in.

Annd my boyfriend had the most lovely bouquet of multicolored roses delivered at work today :) They are beautiful! He picked exactly what I would have picked (I'm not a fan of plain red roses. These are coral, white, pink, purple, soft orangeypink). He's so sweet :)

ETA: I just had an interesting interaction with a couple coworkers. I can't figure out if they're just jealous or jaded. When I showed them my flowers, instead of them being happy for me, they said "Oh, we don't really do anything for valentine's day. My SO bought me flowers in the beginning, but now it's not a big deal." and then one girl said "How long have you been together for? Ohhhh.. you're in the honeymoon stage eyeroll that won't last. I don't care about Valentine's day and I refuse to do anything. It's just a hallmark holiday". and I felt a little sad afterwards. These are my teammates, why couldn't they at least pretend to be happy for me, or be polite, even if they do hate Valentine's day? One's married and the other's in a LTR. shrug

My SO and I are thinking of doing a brunch date and bowling/arcade games on Saturday. He doesn't mind celebrating Valentine's Day, as long as it's not on the actual day. No gifty-gifts. Just some much needed quality time with each other.

My bf loves Deadpool and dragons (we're both geeks) so when I stumbled upon a deadpool dragon on etsy (https://www.etsy.com/listing/110044969/poseable-deadpool-dragon-plush) I just had to get it for him. That's more of a cutesy/sweet gift.

I'm also getting him (well us I guess, technically, lol) a couple's massage at a nearby fancy spa. His back and shoulders have been bothering him lately, probably from doing something at the gym.

I also bought some fancy lingerie in his fav color, and I bought my first ever garter belt and stockings which he mentioned that he liked after I wore some high socks.

I also have plans to make Deadpool cupcakes (basically just choc cupcakes with black/red fondant in the shape of his face/logo). I'm not sure about dinner, though. We're going out to dinner and then to see the Deadpool movie on Saturday night. He's told me to take Monday off but has been vague about actual plans for Sunday/Monday. Maybe I can poke around a bit for more info, I'd really like to cook him his favorite meal.

I bought little chocolates and candy for my kids. I do this every year and they get a big kick out of it (they especially will this year as we've been on a no junk food kick).

The only "special" thing I'll be doing for my husband is making him his favorites: italian steak, sour cherry pie, and whatever other requests he has. I think I am going to have our oldest "help" me with dinner, since she'll be 7 and will want to do something for her father, too.

This post is certainly making me think harder. He deserves something meaningful, since I did not do anything special for our anniversary.

We've just cancelled our date! T_T I was looking forward to it so much, but he's overseas for an extra day so I didn't mope about it! In fact I offered to postpone the whole thing so that he can rest, because he seemed really stressed about today. I'm still dealing with lingering feelings of doubt though :(

We just exchanged presents at midnight! I wrote him a long steamy erotica like we used to write each other all the time when we were long distance and continued with the theme of last years Valentine love letter and he got me a mystery bag at hot topic Disney themed which happened to have things from both the little mermaid and Aladdin, my favorite 2 Disney flicks. Plus some really nice soap in our favorite scents. We're both off tomorrow so we are going to have a sweet day in together with a giant crab feast made at home. I am teh excite!

My boyfriend is sending me a gift that he won't tell me anything else about and sent a really sweet text at midnight but we're not going out because he hates crowds which I'm bitter about even though I know it makes me ungrateful

Late to the party! But February 14th is my SO's birthday, so I always insist on making it about him, and he always insists on making it about me/us, so there's tons of lovin goin on.

I booked us a sweet, cannabis friendly hotel room in downtown Denver (fireplace and Jacuzzi tub and free cookies and milk), and he's taking me out to a sushi / sake bar.

I'm wearing this to dinner :)
