All you can do is get acquainted with her and hope she is attracted to you

Hope, really? Hope is all they've got? Might as well go to church and pray for it then.

[–]n0c0ntr0l 43 points44 points45 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

That is literally the advice they give in church. Pray for God to find you a wife....

[–]1Ill_mumble_that6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I grew up with that crap. Ironically enough, I met my wife/girlfriend shortly after leaving the church (note: not legally married).

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Damn, how come god always finds fat, ugly wifes for the guys who go to church and pray for it and yet manages to find some hot 20year old for the guy who's bothered to work on himself?

[–]Dokkobro12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Just saying, no girl I ever dated that went to a church regularly ever didn't know her place, and they never cheated on me. And I can call them up and fuck em when they don't have boytoys. Idk, I like good Christian girls.

call meh old fashioned, pilgrim.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah, who am I to judge? If it works for you that's great.

[–]nrjk2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He wants all the hot virgins for himself.

[–]MyRedAccount20 points21 points22 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But if you try and force it love won't be magical and you'll end up spending a bunch of money on dates with women you don't have sex with, or something.

Is that place a parody? Someone literally quoted a Disney movie.

"So, you have absolutely no concept how to tell a man to meet, approach, attract and bed a woman and therefore no advice for men here. Thank you"

[–]ltCameFromBehind0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think that's pretty good advice for attractive men. Most of those guys are probably attractive in multiple ways. They probably have personalities and accomplishments and faces/bodies that women find attractive. They also, like most guys, probably have an fairly good understanding of how to flirt. The problem when you apply that advice to TRP is that guys mostly come here because they DON'T have those things. So the advice actually works for about 50% of men but probably doesn't for the other 50% and definitely doesn't for whoever comes here.

[–]enclosed109 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Try this one at home. Hope into one hand and shit into the other. See which one fills up faster.

[–]RP408JZG10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're getting an upvote from me, because while I believe religion is a personal decision, 2 years of allowing myself to get brainwashed by people in the church and letting myself het used by all the hot girls in the college department led to some serious need for mental recalibrating.

[–]anonlymouse2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Might as well go to church and pray for it then

That works better than hoping, you'll meet some sex-starved women at church. Of course you'll have to get married, which is making a deal with the devil...

Man: "How do I get successful with women and have sex with hot ones?"

Everyone: "OMG! Misogynist! Women are people, not objects, get to know them and be nice, jeez..."

Woman: "How do I get successful with men and keep the wealthy, high-status ones?"

Everyone: "You go girl! You deserve what's best! Here's how you can trick them..."

Funny how we even have a redditlog on the front page of a gold digger asking how she can get better gift from her rich boyfriend. Still gets me every time.

The whole concept of this "PunchingMorpheus" subreddit is so laughable.

They have acknowledged that TRP maybe actually works, but they don't want to be big meanies like us women-hating jerks. So they're trying to create an alternate reality where someone who uses Blue Pill dating advice gets Red Pill results.

[–]Endorsed Contributorzyk0s18 points19 points20 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I just read their sidebar, found this gem:

Relationships, both platonic and erotic, should be built on mutual understanding, not emotional exploitation.

Since they seem to like the Matrix analogy, that's like saying "machines should be at the service of humans, not the other way around!". Yeah, sure, believing in it won't make it true though. And what exactly do they think would have happened to Neo if he decided to "punch Morpheus" (or walk away)? That's right, he'd be stuck in the Matrix, basically the same outcome as taking the blue pill. I suggest they rethink their analogies.

[–]AnotherLostCause6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They are basically saying TRP works but you shouldn't use it. So I guess the logic is if there were no alphas women would choose betas.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women should make the first move and get off the cock carousel then (not gonna happen)

[–]Endorsed Contributorgekkozorz16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This whole "relationships should be equal and mutual" concept is parroted by people who don't understand that we're still animals.

Yeah, if the human race were to transcend to a new utopian level, where people are all about caring for each other rather than just trying to maximize our own personal utility, yeah, Blue Pill dating advice would work out just fine. I care for you, you care for me, yaaay equal and loving partnership.

But people just don't work that way.

[–]AngraMainyuu2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I care for you, you care for me, yaaay equal and loving partnership. But people just don't work that way.

Its all conditional. "I care for you, you care for me until..." (Hint: Its not 'until death do us part')

[–]un-affiliated5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I mentioned this in a since deleted thread. "punchingmorpheus" might as well be called "KillTheMessenger" since they mean the same thing. They're unintentionally broadcasting the truth about themselves. They're refusing to listen to or acknowledge things which make them uncomfortable, therefore ensuring that their advice will be be the status quo, a mix of /r/thebluepill and /r/relationships.

[–]pedre1236 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

seems like a BP spinoff, BP is pathetic enough as it is, they are all a waste of time

[–]Tom_The_Human47 points48 points49 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

One thing I still fail to grasp is how people still believe everyone's unique and that implying certain traits are more attractive to women dehumanizes them.

Guess what: Women are humans, humans are animals, and animals have, through evolution, learned to look for specific traits in mates. It's not that fucking hard.

[–]QQ_L2P21 points22 points23 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Ah, but you see. We are all individuals! Special little snowflakes that literally floated down from the asshole of creation itself. We're way more evolved than those cavemen, we think our way out of instinct!

[–]manwhy10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, we are thinking ourselves out of instinct. See /r/childfree and the ongoing calamity that is the American White fertility rate of ~1.8, the Chinese fertility rate of ~1.6, and the German fertility rate of ~1.3.

[–]Kubomi2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

I could argue it is instinctual to not have children if environmental and social conditions do not favor it.

[–]manwhy-2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

No you couldn't. It's not a rational action on the part of an organism to forgo reproduction, full stop.

[–]Kubomi1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

So all those animals in zoos who arent reproducing as they would are just being irrational huh? It isnt because we've removed them from their natural context and are missing important environmental facets of their reproduction and courting ritual... Evolution works through populations and individuals, there are plenty of animals who respond to certain cues either by forgoing mating or canibalizing their offspring, you need to study more biology friend.

[–]manwhy-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

It's irrational from the point of view of continuing the genetic line. In your example, the environment doesn't seem rational to the animal so the animal responds by behaving irrationally.

I really think you're trying to find or manufacture points of contention where there are none.

[–]trias_e0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

There are plenty of cases where maximizing reproductive fitness over the course of the lifetime of an organism means forgoing mating temporarily.

"In your example, the environment doesn't seem rational to the animal so the animal responds by behaving irrationally."

This statement is meaningless.

[–]manwhy0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You're twisting my words and speculating needlessly.

This is what I said:

It's not a rational action on the part of an organism to forgo reproduction, full stop.

Not, "it's not...rational...to forgo reproduction temporarily".

Not, "it's not rational for an animal deprived of natural mating cues to fail to mate".

I stand by my original statement, but I'm not going to bicker with you. Good day.

[–]trias_e0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Ahh. I misunderstood your original post. I thought you meant that it's never rational to forgo reproduction, ever. Misunderstood the 'full stop' bit.

That said, it's plausible that genetic fitness could be maximized in some circumstances by forgoing reproduction and focusing on the success of one's kin, in general, I agree that it's very unlikely to be a good strategy.

[–]manwhy2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That's true. In some cases, inclusive fitness theory provides explanations for why it might be beneficial for an individual to forgo reproduction if the possible upside is greater. To the best of my knowledge, however, it seems to be much more relevant to parental investment in offspring, rather than reproduction itself. For example, in a polygamous society with über sluts wherein paternity may not be assured, a man will invest his resources in his sisters' children rather than his own, because he really has no way of truly knowing if the children of the women he fucks occasionally are his own. (Don't quote me on that--it sounds reasonable but I can't remember where I read it.)

[–]Kubomi0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

...no.

It is not always rational for the survival of a population for each individual to be reproducing. That was my point with the evolution works through populations and individuals. The animals are behaving perfectly rationally, we have just placed them in a situation where breeding, according to their instincts, is not optimal for the population.

[–]manwhy-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And you question my knowledge of biology? Hah!

Altruism is selected against. Inclusive fitness doesn't count as altruism, because it's not.

Evolution doesn't work through populations. The only level evolution works at is that of the individual. In single-celled organisms, the process is self-explanatory. Let's examine multicellular organisms and see why you're wrong.

A multicellular organism such as you or me consists of about 100 trillion cells. Why aren't those cells competing to manifest their genetic destiny? Three words: they are identical. Every cell in our body is genetically identical to every other cell. Our neurons contain the exact same genetic code as the cells in our balls. That means that our neurons can be assured that their genetic legacy will continue just the same as the cells in our eyes or our balls or our toenails. In fact, if they begin to multiply out of control they actually end up sabotaging their own genetic legacy, because the individual (you or me) will die, and their genes with it.

On the other hand, a population of multicellular organism such as...I don't know...orangutans has no such genetic cohesion. Every individual orangutan has a different set of genes, and is thus in competition with one another. A less altruistic orangutan will have more sex and more offspring than a more altruistic orangutan. An orangutan that chooses to remain /r/childfree because there's a famine or something? Whatever, sex, no offspring. The reasons for the lack of offspring don't matter. Orangutans with zero altruism will tend to dominate the gene pool. The overall health of the population doesn't matter unless every single individual's genetic legacy is identical. And two genetic destinies cannot exist simultaneously in an individual--such an individual would be ripped apart by the friction.

The individual doesn't care whether the population is benefited by the individual's reproduction, because it is irrational for any individual to forgo the propagation of his genes in order to allow a competitor's genes to flourish.

[–]anonlymouse0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not necessarily, mice can do that too when they hit a population wall.

[–]wolololololololo7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's because these SRS type SJW's/sociology/women's study majors all come from that post-modern critical theory branch of philosophy. There is no 'truth' (they entirely dismiss the branch of evo psych) and that everyone is shaped by cultural forces/social constructs, making everything subjective, and hence no truth. You can see this bullshit in the science wars when they even tried to dismiss the empirical scientific process in favour of post modern criticism.

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points34 points 12 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

There is no key. She's a human being, not a puzzlebox that dispenses sex when solved. All you can do is get acquainted with her and hope she is attracted to you. There are various ways to make yourself more attractive, such as dressing well, grooming yourself, self-confidence, being physically fit, having good social skills, but in the end it all comes down to if she's interested, and there is no way to force that.

I love when people say they hate theredpill and then proceed to give extremely redpill advice. Like don't get oneitis, be confident and good-looking, but even still rejection will happen and it's not a big deal.

And now onto another comment:

Lady here. Here's a step-by-step process of how every FWB/boyfriend I've ever had got me into bed.

I'm all ears. Let's try and translate this.

1) He was an interesting, mature person when we met. I met them in a variety of places - one through work, one through a coworker's house party, one through a college friend, one at a college party, etc. By interesting I mean he had insightful things to say on a variety of topics, asked my opinions, and was able to engage in thoughtful, funny conversation with me.

The guys that approached me were generally good-looking, interesting, and confident men I wanted to sleep with. I probably ignored everyone else.

2) He made it clear he wanted to be my friend. I was asked to hang out beyond when I initially met them to do fun things that - and this is important - weren't sex related. One guy and I would go through the Calvin and Hobbes books at Barnes and Noble and then go get Noodles for dinner. One invited me and my friends to watch movies at the frat house one night. One baked cookies with me. Etc. These are all things that I would do with any friend and it meant a lot because I knew they were interested in me as a person rather than as something to fuck.

I found out after the fact that I was physically attracted to them how interesting they were as people.

3) They let their attraction to me show but didn't push it. They would flirt with me in fun ways - implying they found me pretty, that they wanted to be with me more, etc but weren't crude or crass about it. One flat-out told me he was attracted to me. But none of them pushed it. They gave me that knowledge and then it was up to me to decide what I wanted to do with it. Had any of them pressured me to have sex, I would've noped on out of there. Through it all, they kept enjoying my company as another person and friend. They were flattered and not pushy when I flirted and showed an interest back.

Again, since they were already attractive I didn't mind their behavior. It's just gravy that they weren't clingy and didn't pedastalize me.

4) I decided that I wanted to act on that mutual attraction and I let them know that I was open to fooling around. They took the time to find out what I liked in bed and were open and trusting when I asked about their preferences as well, and they respected my boundaries.

I liked that we had fun in bed, and that in the end the men had to do about 100% of the work, and did I mention they were attractive?

5) If and when I decided that it was time to end the benefits part of the FWB, they were understanding, accepting, and went right back to being plain old friends - because we were friends long before there were benefits involved. I acted the same way if they were the ones deciding to end the benefits.

I'm sure that's not how they saw it. They probably just stay friendly just because, they don't really care either way.

Once again goes to show that people do agree with what TRP says, they just don't like our methods.

Follow my history. I had it out with the punchingmorpheus founder over dread game.

In the end it was clear as fuck he was litteraly just advocating dread game but refused to admit it.

Read on for more. His wife wears the pants and has him convinced it's "mutual" and his relationahip has "no leader." He then explains how his wife would also say that managing finances, legal decision and housekeeping while he defends and works. If he don't see it there's no telling him.

To be fair I wouldn't give in to my argument if I were him either. His wife is probably reading.

Hi! I'm the OP who wrote the step-by-step and I wanted to clear up a few things as I see them written here. It sounds like I wasn't clear enough since there were some misinterpretations.

1) I didn't mention anything about them being good-looking in my first step for a reason - looks weren't that important to me and all of the guys varied a lot, from the 5'7" scrawny glasses-wearing dude to the 6'4" carrying a few extra pounds dude. My physical attraction to them grew after I got to know them and became attracted to their personalities. I find it a little hurtful that you assumed that I "ignored everyone else" because you don't really know me and you weren't there at the present time, but that's a reasonable assumption to make given the philosophy here.

I'll just say that I'm not obligated to be attracted to people that I don't find attractive, and that's okay, just like you don't have to be attracted to women who are short or overweight or blonde or what have you. It doesn't mean that I ignore everyone who doesn't sexually interest me, because they're still great people even if I don't wanna get into bed with them.

2) Like I mentioned above, physical attraction grew after I was interested in them as a person.

3) Again, since I was already mentally and physically attracted to them, I enjoyed hanging out, talking with them, doing fun stuff and flirting with them. I wouldn't have been comfortable continuing doing so if they'd been treating me as just someone to fuck rather than a cool person to be with.

4) I did like that we had fun in bed, but "they did 100% of the work?" Psh, please. Sex is absolutely no fun if I can't give back to my partner and make them as happy as they've made me. Like I mentioned, I asked after their preferences as well. And I made damn sure that they had fun!

5) They stayed friendly because we were friends. They're cool people and I work to make sure I'm someone they still want to be friends with regardless of any benefits.

Thanks for letting me clear a couple of things up! I know that people who don't subscribe to the redpill philosophy tend to stir things up around here, and I'm sincerely sorry if my post comes across that way - I just wanted to clarify and defend my viewpoint since I felt like it was taken the wrong way. Thanks!

[–]Endorsed ContributorWe_Are_Legion11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I'll just say that I'm not obligated to be attracted to people that I don't find attractive, and that's okay, just like you don't have to be attracted to women who are short or overweight or blonde or what have you.

Of course you're not. But then the question becomes how do we become attractive?

You don't know it but you are confirming every redpill adage on this matter every time even you think you differ.

Such as;

My physical attraction to them grew after I got to know them and became attracted to their personalities.

The question becomes how does one get attracted to personalities? Is attraction an instinct for picking out desirable qualities? Then what are said qualities? What is actionable advice to acquire those. RP answers.

Or:

I find it a little hurtful that you assumed that I "ignored everyone else"

But from a sexual context, didn't you ignore everyone else? Before these men were attractive to you, they were merely friends. I don't want to play into any neckbearded stereotypes you probably have of us, but cmon now.

The cliché of RPers being so socially blind as to disregard female humans as individuals is absolutely wrong. That is base common sense. But in the context of pursuing them as romantic partners, I'm afraid you offer zero knowledge.

[–]writergal14218 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

But then the question becomes how do we become attractive?

I feel like I answered this one - we shared common interests, they had interesting things to say about interesting topics, and they were interested in engaging me in discussion on those topics. So - be knowledgeable and have an interest in having intelligent conversation with people, and see me as a person and a friend rather than something to fuck.

The question becomes how does one get attracted to personalities?

How does one become attracted to Asian women or tall men or women who wear off-beat lipstick shades or guys who have glasses? We're attracted to what we're attracted to, I think. That differs from person to person and there's no way to tell who's going to be attracted to the altruistic side of your personality versus the nerdy side versus the emotionally stoic side. Personalities click or they don't, I find. I know that's not the philosophy here, and that the thinking is that there are certain characteristics women are generally attracted to and so men should strive to cultivate those. That's not been my personal experience, though I understand that many people here have had a different experience than mine.

But from a sexual context, didn't you ignore everyone else?

I'm a little confused here. No, I didn't jump into bed with everyone I met, that's true, but I certainly didn't ignore them as people. But the original poster made it sound like it was a bad thing that I "ignored" everyone else. Can you shed some light on this? Is it bad that I didn't sleep with people I wasn't attracted to? Or is it bad that I had male friends that I enjoyed spending time with who I didn't want to sleep with?

The cliché of RPers being so socially blind as to disregard female humans as individuals is absolutely wrong.

I'd really, really like to be on board with you here, because I think you guys have it half right. I think the advice to improve yourself and to become someone worth being in a relationship with is spot-on. The rest of it I have a really hard time with. I've seen comments talking about training women like they're dogs or children, I've seen blanket statements about how all women will use and manipulate men, women over 35 are now "post-wall" and not worth any effort whatsoever, etc. That's the impression that I get when I get into this sub. I don't feel like the folks here see women as people, but only things to fuck. I'd really, really like to be shown differently.

Thanks for the level comment. I'm really nervous about posting in here and I appreciate that you took the time to respond like you did.

but I certainly didn't ignore them as people.

He doesn't mean ignoring them as people, he means ignoring them as sexual partners. Which you did, and is perfectly fine. He's just pointing it out. And to extend further, perhaps some of those who were ignored sexually/romantically would've preferred to have that attention from you? They lost out because they were not attractive enough for various reasons. And again, of course it's your choice, no one is arguing otherwise.

[–]IrrationalShark0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If it's her choice, then what exactly is the problem here? If she's not attracted to them, then tough luck. There are probably plenty of people out there who find them attractive, just not her.

[–]1Joelasaur0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. There is no problem here. I was just pointing it out, as well as /u/We_Are_Legion

I'm hoping you don't get downvoted into oblivion, since you're coming in with an open mind.

I feel like I answered this one - we shared common interests, they had interesting things to say about interesting topics, and they were interested in engaging me in discussion on those topics. So - be knowledgeable and have an interest in having intelligent conversation with people, and see me as a person and a friend rather than something to fuck.

While those are nice things for guys to have, they aren't sexually attractive things. Many guys who have those qualities struggle with women. I was that way for a long time before I lost my virginity. You actually get a lot closer in your next paragraph.

Personalities click or they don't, I find.

That's a lot more accurate, but probably not in the way you think, because it's a lot more subtle. I think you'll find that most women find the same guys attractive, even when dealing just with personality and not looks.

No, I didn't jump into bed with everyone I met, that's true, but I certainly didn't ignore them as people. But the original poster made it sound like it was a bad thing that I "ignored" everyone else. Can you shed some light on this?

Keep in mind that most people on here are either sexually frustrated, or were sexually frustrated at one point. By "Ignore everybody else", he means sexually. You probably didn't even give a lot of guys a chance. But, like you said, that's not a real problem, but when you've been frustrated for so long it's hard not to think that way.

I agree with you on a lot of that, but saying a woman is "post-wall" doesn't mean she's completely worthless as a human being. But when looking for sexual partners or a relationship, there are many disadvantages to older women.

  1. They tend to not be as attractive as younger women.

  2. They are less willing to have sex with a guy unless they go on 10,000 dates.

  3. It's more difficult for them to have children, it's more likely for those children to have issues, and they can't have as many of them (bad for those men who want lots of kids).

When you add it all up, it just makes more sense for guys to pursue younger women.

But other than that I agree with you. It's kind of sad how little time we spend on here on actual dating and sex advice compared to how much people complain about how horrible women are.

[–]writergal14211 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate you took the time to write out such a thoughtful response. You made some excellent points about the audience here that I neglected to consider that I really should have.

While those are nice things for guys to have, they aren't sexually attractive things.

I gotta disagree here. I never would have been attracted to these guys in the first place if they hadn't caught my attention by being funny, interesting, smart and engaging. That's what got me into bed - not their looks or muscles or what have you. I really do think personality and shared interests are a big part of sexual attraction as it concerns an ongoing sexual relationship, or at least they were for me. Everyone's different, heh.

As I read back over your comment, I feel like that's crass to say especially since you pointed out that a lot of guys are this way but don't have sexual relationships. I can only speak to my personal experience. I will agree that there are certain personality traits that attract women more than others, but I feel like that's true for most everyone - people want to hang out with charming, confident, fun people across the board.

Everything else, I think we're seeing pretty eye-to-eye on. Like I said, thanks for your comment. It's a nice discussion to have since I was initially really wary about posting on here. I'm going to be signing off soon and unsubscribing in the morning so the last word's all yours, but I did enjoy reading the couple of replies I've had here.

[–]Schrodingersdawg2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thanks for coming in with an open mind - I just have something to add.

I never would have been attracted to these guys in the first place if they hadn't caught my attention by being funny, interesting, smart and engaging.

There's a few things at play here. One is that nobody ever told us to be funny, interesting, smart, and engaging. They told us the whole "be yourself."

But even now, how does someone become funny, interesting, smart and engaging? Here, we like to tell people to find hobbies, find something they're passionate about to do - great. But that's not enough. See, I have hobbies, I'm engaging, I'm smart, I'm funny. But it takes training to stay that way when you talk to a hot girl. It takes lots of practice to figure out how to let your interesting side show through.

I played football in high school - it was something that I loved, along with piano and tinkering with electronics. I'm passionate about these things, it's just that if I talk about them to girls then they either lose interest or don't see me a a guy they want to fuck.

It's a losing battle if we go passive about this. I'm just trying to get some one night stands, is all. But what irks me, and other men, is that women seem to be able to do all the choosing.

The old adage "Men have sex when they can, women have sex when they want." rings true, and well, when we see one or two guys that all the women want to have sex with, we try and figure out how to be those guys.

[–]wbr_8881 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't get what's wrong with men trying to figure out how the dating game works - I really don't. Objection seem to be the same as the tax man or Google's with SEO - that understanding the game leads to the "wrong" people winning.

But what if you are born the wrong guy? What if you are born undesirable? What then? Should you never attempt to learn the social tricks successful people have?

By this sort of logic, why go to school to learn things like Marketing ("Just let your product be itself - if it is good enough, it will be successful"), business ("I want a business that just works organically - it is manipulation to talk all this jargon like USP and brain drain") or accounting ("If you are honest, the government will tax you fairly")?

It is really no surprise that TRP exists - because this is what men do well - share information. And this sharing of info benefits both genders, as Roy Baumeister said in Is There Anything Good About Men?:

Giving birth is a revealing example. What could be more feminine than giving birth? Throughout most of history and prehistory, giving birth was at the center of the women’s sphere, and men were totally excluded. Men were rarely or never present at childbirth, nor was the knowledge about birthing even shared with them. But not very long ago, men were finally allowed to get involved, and the men were able to figure out ways to make childbirth safer for both mother and baby. Think of it: the most quintessentially female activity, and yet the men were able to improve on it in ways the women had not discovered for thousands and thousands of years.

Why can't men use that same ability to better bed women? There seems, to me, no moral imperative NOT to.

[–]TRP VanguardYouDislikeMyOpinion2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's what got me into bed - not their looks or muscles or what have you.

This is from my past.

I also seemed to be enthralled with a girl's personality, which made me like her a lot.

Later on, after fucking her and sitting on those thoughts for a day, I realized that I didn't like her personality that much, I actually was responding to her beauty.

Much later on I discovered that I actually have a type of body / facial features that I intrinsically like. I mapped out the similarities between a lot of girls that I was attracted to, and found various similarities that applied across the board. It was then that I became aware that I simply liked those things as a byproduct of my nature. I had no mental awareness that I preferred them, yet they were present in all of those girls.

Don't underestimate the effect of muscles or "what have you".

Ever hear of something along the lines of a study that was conducted that had one group rate products on a comfortable chair, and another rate products on a normal chair (or something along those lines). The group that sat on comfortable chairs rated those products higher than the other group.

In their mind they were rating the products based on their merit. They were unaware that the comfort of their chair affected their ratings. Just like you may be unaware of exactly how much looks played a part in your past attractions.

I see that you have a healthy curiosity for hearing what the other side speaks (as seen with the fuckfest that is PPD), but that other side is very much intolerant of your beliefs, and is coming with preconceived idea that you're the Satan himself. TRP is an organic neoreactionary movement - it sprung up as a fundamental rejection of the feminist part of progressivism while working to create a positive intellectual framework for men to work with. It's bound to be shamed into oblivion. Proggies, or BPs, but you know who I am talking about, are unable to create a valid criticism over TRP and thus they must resort to shaming language - it's all there in the side bar. Misogyny, emotional abuse, racism, xenophobia, etc, etc... It's like hitting subscribe button to TRP will create a mini Auschwitz in your backyard.

Any attempt to reason with person who believes you're Hitler while aware of the shaming mechanisms they employ will leave you unimpressed. It's fun to watch the justifications of it though.

I've had my fill of those subs. I'll post every once in a while to watch the hamsters throw a fit, but I'm immune to shaming language now, which in itself may actually be a really good benefit for any new red pillers to do. Let them mock and ridicule you while offering nothing logical of their own, no alternatives, nothing constructive. You build up a tolerance to it which is useful for the real world.

All blue pillers really are children.

Learning to recognize powertalk - language intended to push an agenda with or without facts backing you up - is one of the most important TRP skills you need to learn here.

Not everyone is interested in a pure analysis of the facts. Some people just want to score goals for Team Us and boo at Team Them.

I want to fuck an extremely hot woman.

If you're looking to bang the "hottest possible women," that tells me that you're probably using society's definition of attractiveness, rather than your own. And that probably means that what you're actually looking for is the status associated with sleeping with a woman that society considers attractive, rather than the sex itself.

Let me switch it up:

I want to drive an extremely nice car.

If you're looking to drive the "nicest possible car", that tells me that you're probably using society's definition of nice car, rather than your own. And that probably means that what you're actually looking for is the status associated with driving a nice car that society considers attractive, rather than the driving of the car itself.

No, you misunderstand me, I want to drive an extremely nice car because it's extremely nice, that's what makes me want to drive it. While status is one part of it, I would be happy to drive any number of exotic cars without anyone finding out about it.

Moving on.

Let's be real here: A girl has to be really unattractive before it starts making sex less enjoyable.

Clearly doesn't know what the fuck he/she's talking about. I'm pretty sure that all else being equal, enjoyment increases proportionally to hotness.

If all you're looking for his a quickie, then how fun a girl is should be way more important than how conventionally attractive she is.

Or... Or, if I'm looking to drive a car for 15 minutes, I would much rather prefer driving a lambo to a honda sedan that has "great handling" and a "5 star safety system".

But if what you're looking for is being able to brag to your buddies the next day, then how hot they think she is suddenly becomes the main focus.

Or I could just want to fuck a hot girl and not specifically want to brag to my buddies about it. Maybe, just maybe it's possible for me to want to fuck a hot girl exclusive of the "status" of the action.

On to another post.

In my experience, while there are exceptions to the rule, a woman's (conventional, mainstream) beauty is usually inversely proportional to her integrity and mental health. In other words, the hotter she is, the more of a lying, cheating, backstabbing, unstable whore she is likely to be, and therefore, the less you should want to go near her.

Where's the nearest hamplanet line?

Or... Or I could just bang the hot woman, and not put up with her shit. Then I can.. get this.. bang another hot woman! Eureka!

Ya'll gotta understand, these are the guys who gave up long ago on landing 8s, 9s, and 10s. They either convince themselves that the 5s are really what they want, or that they're too good to lower themselves by "learning game" or whatever.

In their minds, either the hot women are golddiggers and shallow, and they wouldn't be happy in a relationship with them anyway, or they'll meet a hot chick and bag her through luck and being nice.

Everyone probably knows at least a couple guys like this in real life.

She's a human being, not a puzzlebox that dispenses sex when solved.

I keep seeing variations on this everywhere. What world do these people live in? Female attraction could barely be more formulaic and predictable. Shit, male attraction is just as formulaic and predictable.

He's partly right: we're not puzzle boxes, we're puzzle boxes with a randomness element. Some moves have higher probabilities than others. But the same move is going to work most of the time. A few counter-examples here and there don't change much. Even pocket aces get cracked sometimes.

There are various ways to make yourself more attractive, such as dressing well, grooming yourself, self-confidence, being physically fit, having good social skills

Isn't this all part of what TRP is? I mean it teaches us to better ourselves and to stop idolizing women. It teaches us that we need to be better and that we should be in command of our lives before we can pursue something. It teaches self-respect and how to maintain "frame". TBH these guys want parts of the pill without taking it. To each his own.

There seems to be three flavors of relationship advice; mainstream, PUA, and Red Pill. They all have their flaws.

Mainstream advice is pretty much completely worthless. It's a bunch of people who don't know what they're talking about just saying what they think sounds good.

PUA has some good stuff, but they seem to focus mainly on going to clubs and bars and getting one night stands, which isn't what a lot of guys want. They also rely too heavily on scripted lines, which is a pretty horrible way to go about it.

Red Pill is probably the closest. As a whole, it is a little more open to different types of relationships, and focuses on self improvement rather than lines. But it fails in that it's too conservative and old fashioned. I guess that's ok if you want to live a 1950's lifestyle, but many guys don't. This sub in particular seems to focus too much energy on hating women.

So for somebody like me, who wants to spin plates and never have kids, there really isn't a good place for advice. Red Pill is probably the closest, but even coming here every day I only see a good post once a week or so. The world of dating advice really sucks.

[–]1neveragoodtime1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not hating women, hating feminism. And feminism has turned many women into hate worthy creatures. But a feminine woman, who understands trusting and submitting to a worthy man is exceptionally valuable. This is the source of the 1950's traditional lifestyle, it's the only LTR model we have seen work. I see your point on the different viewpoints of the LTR red pill, and the plate red pill. I hope we have more similarities than differences. I learn a lot from the plate advice to keep my head in the game and keep from backsliding in an LTR situation. I imagine learning about the qualities in women that make them valuable for long term considerations would be good for plate spinners, should they one day have to choose between plates, or decide to select one.

[–]chakravanti930 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
