This is a post I've been wanting to make for a while, and a question on askTRP triggered me to finally do so. It's very simple, but a lot of guys (including myself) go wrong with it.

I used to have great sex with a FWB in the past. I really didn’t want to lose that. So I would keep on texting her all day and ask her beta things like “how do you feel about me?”, “do you think we could be together?” and other dumb shit like that. While I wanted to keep having sex with her, my actions didn’t align with that goal. I could have prevented a mistake like that by just asking myself a very simple question: "how do I act in my best interest?", but I didn’t. I kept blowing up her phone with needy beta shit. And then she left.

You could prevent the mistake that I made with literally two steps. Ask yourself the next two questions:

1) What is my best interest? 2) How do I act in my own best interest?

If for example your answer to the first question is "blowing my load in this girl", then ask the second question if you are going to make a next move: "Is texting her all day like a needy beta acting in my own best interest to keep on blowing my load in her?". The answer is most likely going to be no. So you don’t do that. You try to be light-hearted and fun. You set up a meeting. Kino, plausible deniability, logistics, smash. That’s acting in your best interest. Nothing more. And this could apply to anything, not just women or sex.

No one else is going to look out for you. No one else gives a shit about what you want. You are the only one who cares about your own interest, except maybe your mother (if you are that lucky). The least you could do is not shooting yourself in the foot by taking steps that don’t align with your own interest.

Always act in your best interest.
