I've been the guy at the other end of that text before. I once fucked a girl without knowing she had a boyfriend until after. In fact, the boyfriend came to visit her the very next day after our one night stand.

To top it off, she was kind of a nerdy girl, not popular, and would be the last person a beta would think would cheat. But alas, there she was at the frat party the night before her out of town boyfriend came to visit.

That's when I learned AWALT. I don't know why it took me so many years later to internalize it though.

I once had my best friend put on a full-blown private Cam-Girl show for me, unprovoked, while she still had a boyfriend.

I was actually super weirded out.

I had very similar experience. Nerdy Girl with boyfriend in another City. When I was talking about one night stands she Tell that it is weird and girls which do that are sluts. I have this problem too. If a girl has an innocent face, I subconsciously assume that she has good character and morals. These awalt reminders are necessary for me to get my lizard brain to accept that looks don't coincide with morals, character, or ethics.

When i see women do shit like this, in my head i laugh and scream AWALT. It happens more and more often these days as my brain adapts to TRP.

The best was my housemate. A group of us were out for drinks and she went for a smoke on her own. When she came back to the group(which included her boyfriend) she told us about how two separate creeps had tried to chat her up while she was out there. She feigned disgust where in my head I knew. She just wanted people to know she got hit on. It didnt matter by who. She wanted us all to know(especially her bf) that she is considered desirable by other men.

I laughed and just thought....AWALT.

And it actually backfires quite often. One of the biggest things TRP taught me is to stop trying to analyze women like I would a man. Don't treat them like men, don't expect them to act like me, don't talk to them like men, and so on.

Women suffer the same problem in reverse. They assume that we think like women. They see a man who is desired by many women as more desirable, so to them it must mean that if they are wanted by many men, they must also be more desirable. What they often fail to realize is that it more likely makes men detest them and only desire them in a purely physically and temporary sense, to bed them as a trophy and be done with them. Dealing with women who are constantly being hit on by other guys, especially if they're actively cultivating it, is honestly a huge pain in the ass and not worth the trouble. I'd take a shy 7 over a super popular 9 in terms of LTR because it's just not worth my time or trouble dealing with more shit tests, beta orbiters, threats of cheating and so forth. To a woman, a man can never be too popular, too wanted, too desirable. But to a man, a woman can. There can be a point where it's just too much of a pain and not worth more than a romp in the sack.

If you're new to TRP then may I suggest you read some more into the meaning of AWALT? Because I fear you might not fully understand it. AWALT means women have a tendency to do certain things, but that doesn't mean they will actually do it. Some chick cheating on her bf doesn't have anything to do with AWALT, at most it makes for an example how screwed up some (most?) women behave. Besides, you always have to be wary of your own confirmation bias when dealing with these kind of situations.

There's a post in this forum called 'the facets of AWALT' by Archwinger. Might be an interesting read.

Having said that, by all means, welcome to TRP. Maybe do some more reading while you're here, and looking forward to seeing more of your writing when you have interesting things to share.

AWALT FR: Dinner this week with a 28-year-old HB9. She is leaving her boyfriend of 10 years after she cheated on him in year 10, or finally got caught. They never married and they have no kids. She says she did not want to get married and she even claimed she “helped” put him through college, yet he has student loans that paid their bills when he did not work. She said her salary was her “fun money” because he paid all the bills.

Her BF has a great job, makes good money and even bought her a Lexus while covering the bills for a relative living in “their” house. She even said her BF is a great guy. Her BF gave her everything and she just spit it back into his face, except the Lexus. I suspect the BF even thinks he is an “Alpha provider” and was waiting for the right moment to pop the question again, because how could she refuse. Shit, I want to date the guy… :/

The BF is finally moving her out of his life, but the cognitive dissonance he is feeling must be tearing him apart. She is applying for work as a “bartender” in strip clubs and other shitty bars. She thinks this whole thing is a lark, and she is right! Some dude will come along and pick up the pieces after she crashes and burns. Unless, the wall smacks her in the face, but she is smart enough to know that she must stay fit. She understands that her only commodity is her looks.

It's a problem I feel many men don't see. There are guys out there that only have "girlfriends" because they pay for them. These guys come into a girls life and shower them in gifts at a great expense to them. I was seeing girl for awhile that had this pathetic orbiter.

I didn't care that he was around because I was getting what I wanted which included money as well. Yep, she was paying me to have sex with her. I was a total bastard to her and she loved it. I'm not trying to boast here but that was what was happening essentially.

Anyway this guy is just around buying her everything. Laptops, tablets, the new iPhones, jewelry. Thousands of dollars. This guy had a good job but not that great. Turns out he lives in his moms garage. I never met the guy but he knew who I was.

Eventually, she started busting my chops about how he was so good to her and buying her stuff. She asked me to buy her laptops and take her out to expensive restaurants. I told her that I don't want to be like that guy. He buys you presents and gets nothing from her or at least not everything he wanted. He's a chump and she pretends that what she wanted was a chump. Nope she wanted free shit from a chump and an Alpha that would wreak her every weekend.

I left that situation with my dignity intact. I didn't like it. I felt like I was using her and that made me feel like shit. I wanted to be more than just someone to fuck but I wasn't about to spend my paycheck to escalate our relationship. Beside there is no indication that she would stop getting presents from the next chump that came along. No trust and no honor in that woman.

I am a few month old lurker. Trying to figure out how to fix my life. No idea if I should be using a throw away account to post on here but whatever. If its recommended let me know. Wanted to provide another AWALT example.

Dating my girl for a year and a half. Heavy oneitis. She hated everything I did. Complained when I wanted to drink/smoke/hang with friends. Everything. She slowly chipped away everything that made me me. She finally left me three weeks ago. She told me to "work on myself" implying im not worth anything. She also would never have sex with me which turned into many fights. Point is she left. I was hurt but started to recover quickly enough thanks to TRP. Listen up. I hear these similar stories over and over again. You thought a girl was special, even though you ignored a communist parade of red flags, she didn't turn out to be the girl you hoped, and from that you conclude AWALT!

The fact that you haven't been selective enough in your girls, and perhaps not of high enough value to attract the interesting ones, doesn't mean that there aren't girls out there worth investing in. As you found TRP, you now know the warning signs. Filter out the bad apples, work on yourself and stay sharp when it comes to women. When you find the ones that do add value to your life, then you'll realise AWALT doesn't mean what you now think it means.

Looking back, I've been in a fucked up relation too. But never did I project her character flaws upon other women. There are better ones out there. AWALT speaks of tendencies. Tendencies can be -and are being- avoided, overridden and ignored.

While not an open and shut case for awalt, its a good start. The problem though, is we rarely hear about the faithful girls, because they are outside of the radar.

Though the AWALT philosophy, even if flawed, is still useful, because it gives people a sense of caution.

It also keeps you on your toes. If you do value an ltr, than you will have better tools for keeping it going.

AWALT doesn't mean all women cheat. It's referring to how all women seek validation, as well as highlighting a sexual strategy such as branch swinging, AF/BB etc. The one that likely applies here is AF/BB. Her boyfriend likely pays a much larger portion of the bills. He has to do this because she likely either A) didn't go to college B) went into gender studies, has no career prospects and works at Starbucks. What does he get for being an unexciting provider? Cheated on. Do we have evidence? Circumstantial at best. But why else would you delete text histories, and not have somebody you're talking to regularly in your contacts. The small part we do know fits perfectly into the AWALT puzzle. This isn't a court. She isn't guilty and to be punished. It's yet another example on the massive pile that all fits together to show TRP theory is on the right track. If you've been reading sidebar info, you'd know TRP doesn't hate women, or think they all cheat. It simply provides a mindset that protects us as much as possible for the hyper-pro-woman/hyper-anti-man culture we live in. Ignore at your own risk.

Also, it's confirmation bias not selection bias. That alone warrants a downvote.

Those burned men are in the anger phase. Many think they are past it, and just aren't. Men are forged in the fires of anger and pain, but only AFTER they've truly overcome it. Those men rarely return to TRP after reaching that stage, and are drown out when they do. Yet some others many never be past it. Hence why this sub gets a rep of woman hating. Naw, it's more about what frame this cooking is happening in. If you're playing "house-husband" and cooking or cleaning merely out of some obsequious sense of duty or to make her "happy", then certainly, cut it back or cut it out.

I took on cooking as a pretty hardcore hobby for a few years. My kitchen is just as well stocked with quality implements now as my wood shop is with razor sharp chisels and speciality saws. I'm shopping for a super high end chef's knife as we speak. The kitchen is where I create and feel relaxed. I can bake you an apple pie that'll knock your dick in the dirt. My smoked pork shoulder is super legit. At pot lucks, my dishes are always the first to empty out. Every time I get in the kitchen, even for some anonymous Wednesday night meal, I'm trying to surpass whatever I did last time.

I do the cooking in my house every other week and it's something I look forward to. I definitely would rather do yard work over most house work, but preparing food is an art form.

This was one of the key insights TRP provided me.

If I were in OPs situation, I would have thought, "Oh, shit. This girl's definitely cheating on her boyfriend." I then would have told myself that she's not one of the "good girls" and that I'd find mine someday.

The difference between men doing this and women doing this is women's solipsism rationalizes some reason why they are the victim and they are surviving (infinitely more-so if she has a kid.) The pro-3rd-wave-feminism-PC society of today white knights the shit out of her.

Chill man. My logic is this.

It's fine to give examples of "AWALT." I don't have a problem with the content of the post. What I do have a problem is it's just bad writing. If he wanted to give another reminder (of a thing we already hear 456,456,485 times in this subreddit), he needs to start with what it's going to be an example of.

Right now, he's like:

"Hey guys, just a reminder that All Women are like that. Girl is cheating on her boy friend. Yeah man, all women are like that."

What are all women like that is suggested by this story? Are they all hoes? Will they all cheat? Do they chronically text people and then delete their messages right away? Do they all cheat on buses? What are all women like? He has no color or explanation of what he's trying to say.

I am simply pointing out that he needs to provide some analysis or have a conclusion to this post if he wants to provide any value. Not "Hey man this girl cheated!!! All women are like that!!!"

This is just conjecture, but it seems like he's new, so for a more seasoned person, one will "assume" he is saying that all women are not special unicorns.

I agree with you. It's just that sometimes I feel that the guys are are in the wrong tone... What matters saying AWALT here and AWALT there if it's obvious that you have to be in control of yourself in order to control anything exterior from you ?

In the same way AMALT is also true, Everybody's just looking for the best that they can get. And if women behave like that we should just be glad that they do, cause men should do the same.

like i said, these are just reminders. If you've ever had oneitis, you'll understand how important AWALT examples like this are. It helps shatter the hamster wheel we have in our heads to justify the behaviour of our "soulmate", and puts our situations into its true perspective. I think we all have tendencies to slip up, relax and become unfocused when in situations with a woman. We all have "wow, she could be different" moments. Those are the moments where we leave ourselves open to situations like above. Men will do what they want. Women will do what they want. To the guy just swallowing the pill though, information like this is a great system shocker.
