Let's imagine two scenarios at the gym.

One day you walk in, and you "Arent feeling it." You go through your routine half-assedly, and barely make an effort. You do just enough to justify finishing the routine and that is all.

The next day you decide to call upon a personal trainer at the gym to help you. He sets you up on a brutal circuit training program, and you struggle the whole time. You get near the end, and you almost give up. When you are about to quit, the trainer yells at you, and you find strength within to finish the workout.

Now, you can say what you want, but the second situation is more efficient. The personal trainer provides the necessary "motivation" to actually become accountable for your actions. This is key.

This is why people pay hundreds of dollars per hour to hire these guys, because the service they provide is to actually get you over that hump and remove all your rationalizatons, forcing you to do what you know you need to. You are paying them for external willpower.

This phenomenon applies to everything in life. Approaching that cute girl you see on the street, asking your boss for a raise, even forcing yourself to wake up early.

The sad part, you can't have a personal motivator walk around with you 24/7 and force you to make those hard decisions. You need to create a voice inside of you that has the same effect. You need to become your own personal trainer.
