Hey all. RunShit here. I’ve been on these boards for a couple years now and they have helped me tremendously. I have never contributed before for a simple reason; power is a zero-sum game, so why would I want to help out my competition? I’ve recently had a (slight) change of heart because of the realization that most of you lack the willpower to implement meaningful change in your lives so it doesn’t matter if I share my secrets with the community at large. Plus I’m a little bored and itching to write something.

This post is directed at those who have evolved/positively changed themselves significantly in the past few years. My advice to you is to delete all traces of the old you from social media as much as possible. Delete your Instagram (or at least all your pictures). Delete your Facebook. Delete whatever the fuck else you are on. Untag yourself from everything. I am not telling you stay off permanently (there is nothing wrong with making a new one…although Facebook is cancerous).

Why? If there is a lot of evidence of the old, shitty, person you used to be people will view the new you as an extension of him and therefor fraudulent. This will fundamentally limit their perception of your value because your old low-value ways will be forever tied to you via photographic evidence. And to be honest a lot of us were reallllly beta before we discovered TRP.

You don’t want to be a turn-around success story (#transformationtuesday #glowup). You want to be a new person. Let me put into abstract terms that all you autists will understand. Let’s say your SMV three years ago was a 2. Now you’re objectively a 7. People will subconsciously average those two together and your current SMV will be perceived as lower than it actually is because people view you as a direct extension of the old you (who is now dead).

A funny thing happens though when people can’t remember the old you though, they will update their memory of him based on the new you. This means they will remember the old you better than he actually was a la Brian Scalabrine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPLxRzFno4c). Let’s say they remember the old you as a 5 now because they have no point of reference besides the new and improved You 2.0… Old+New with point of reference to old: (2+7)/2=4.5 vs. New+Old with no point of reference: (7+5)/2=6. See what I’m talking about?

This goes back to deleting you social (shout out Lil Uzi Vert) because it’s the most common point of reference people have to the old you. Fuck your sentimentality. You should definitely have some form of social media if you are under 35 because it’s a great way to connect with people, show off, and be entertained. Just try not to make it a big fat reminder of the scrub you used to be.

EDIT: It seems like a lot of people are taking issue with a me saying power is a zero-sum game. OK, yes, IRL it is not zero-sum but in the case of anonymously sharing life advice with strangers on the internet it is (and you could argue that people coming together to form a group is zero-sum because the group being more powerful means that someone else becomes less powerful when they have to deal with this group). Think about this if you disagree with me. Imagine that cute girl you are texting just got propositioned by some guy in her class. Would you rather him be well read & practiced on TRP or not? I have no problem with competition because it is part of life but I definitely appreciate not always having to work as hard as I am capable of to get what I want.
