The stuff about the dongles wasn’t even logical and as a self professed nerd, that bothered me. Dongles are intended to be small and unobtrusive. They’re intended for network connectivity and to service as physical licence keys for software. I’d consulted in the past with an automotive shop that needed data recovery and technical support. I know what PCMCIA dongles look like.

As a developer, this makes me really sad.

I will never stop making fun of tech things with names like gender changers, dongles, "hot plugging", or any other sexual euphemism. Why? Because it's funny... and it should be funny regardless of gender. There's literally no harm being done to anyone.

I'm glad to see so many developers standing up for themselves saying "this went too far". Now if only they'd see that in other parts of their lives...

So many non-developer, barely technically literate people trying to dictate the direction of developers as a whole. This woman isn't a developer, she's a "developer evangelist". It basically means she goes to conferences and looks good. She writes no code, she fixes no bugs, she couldn't orient an object if she wanted to. Yet she's making waves with developers. How can no one see the simple truth that it's only because she's a woman?

So many events, clubs, and organizations being formed up soley for women: "Girl Geeks", "Ladies Learning Code" and other similar things. I've always wondered, why is there no mens version of these things for traditionally female jobs? "Men learning fashion" or "Dude Nurses" or "Male Child Care Professionals". It's almost like men understand the deal they're making with themselves when they get into a female dominated industry...

This man loses his job and cannot support his half of a home with 3 kids. He possibly gets divorced since he may never get another tech job and those 3 kids grow up in a broken home. Even if this doesn't happen to him, it happens all the time. Now this man brings up his sons to never trust women and to never support them. Therefore, the man's male children live a RP lifestyle without a proclivity to accumulate wealth. Let's recall why most men accumulate wealth: for women. The IT field, which was thus far staffed by men who WANT to support a family, is now overrun with fat, ugly betas who have no drive and women who are angry that there are no more good men.

Play this out over a few more generations.

Men become children. Women become masculinized.

Why would women struggle to be successful the way men struggle to be successful today? So they have to pay for, carry and support their own children? Do you really think most women are going to do that? Can you see that happening?
