I don't even get why people analyze shit like this. It seems so exhausting to be around a woman who acts this way no matter how "hot" they are..

Have your sexual/romantic needs met with someone who's a little more level headed and less power hungry/crazy. People with a busy life don't have time for that shit. Leisure time is supposed to be enjoyable, Not some mental gymnastics Soviet mind control competition.

I know we all experienced toxic women here, but there are women out there who are at least decent enough to not be this shitty. By being a good man and walking away from that crap you

1.) Free yourself from its useless burden (save your mental energy for your calling/passions in life)

2.) Maybe (but highly unlikely) she'll learn a lesson and not pull shit like this anymore for whatever future guy she meets. Chances are she has a type though.. If you get my picture (guys who will tolerate this shittiness)

She lets out a little surprised laugh, and I can tell she's both frustrated for being told "N. O." and impressed that I stood up to her. Then she pulls this shit: "Well, I don't want my roommate's dog to be by himself outside. Can you order for me?" This is some expert level shit - still trying to weasel her way into free food while jockeying for power in the situation.

Was she always like this? (Yes.) I say, "Yeah, give me your card."

I had a girl I was trying to spin to a plate. I invited her to a very modest restaurant.

She texts me and tells me she's with some friends at a bar. The most expensive bar in the city. "Come join us!"

But I know women, so I show up and order water, as it looks like they've been there for hours. "Shall we split the bill 4 ways?" I tell them to split it three ways.

The girl then informs me we're all going to the expensive new restaurant.

Noped out of that and went home. Not going to be your wallet.

Most guys would have just gone along and then got a peck in the cheek before she went home and ordered a fuck toy on Tinder. Not me.

Did she contact me and apologize? Nope. If I wasn't going to be used, I could fuck right off.

I've been in relationships with weird power dynamics, it's really petty an unintelligent. You sound like you've got a lot going for yourself, congrats on the new job; and being able to 1) recognize the power dynamics, 2) being able to just walk away from an ex like that.

The only thing I'd say is that it's never really worth plating an X. There was some emotional connection so some degree, assuming that you're now going to just ignore that aspect and not let it impact you: I don't see the point of that. It's taxing on your energy and time, even if you consciously make the choice to not get involved you're emotions are not rational nor do the care about your plans. I find it best to put myself in situations that I'll thrive in or grow from.

You're future can not be found in the past, only lessons reside in that realm.

Part of me thinks you didn't just want to plate this girl though :/

Was dating a drama queen for a bit myself. On a Friday night I invited her out to celebrate a friend's birthday. She texts back

"My sister is sick, I'm taking care of her. I had a hard week at work and I'm mad at you. You didn't ask me about any of this. Leave me alone and don't talk to me for a few days"

I reply

"OK"

I proceed to go out for the night and have a ball (including a few chicks of the group being into me). Anyway I get a message the next night from her asking to talk. I show up at her apartment on Sunday and she opens with.

"You need to treat me better"

My reply:

"You're welcome to feel however you'd like, I can't dictate your feelings. With that said, if you're having a rough week, and don't feel like I'm attentive, communicate that to me. Don't try to punish me on Friday night when I'm looking forward to spend time with you and have fun with my friends. That behavior is unacceptable. You're an adult, use your words to communicate your frustrations. Don't bottle them up and blow up at the most inconvenient moments."

Anyway she pulled a lot of shit like that, which I never fell for, and is why I stopped seeing her.

Let me be devil's advocate:

Did you really have to overthink every single action she made?
Whether she was lying or not, if you had paid for her meal because she directly asked you, why did it matter to you? Was it that expensive? Is it about pride? Does pride matter that much to you?
Couldn't you just enjoy a lunch with a person with whom there is some level of familiarity?
Is everything really power games? If so, why did you care? Aren't you over her?
Even if it indeed was power games, why did you care? (You do care because you ended up making this post on this sub).

Don't take things personal, and life will be much easier.

Also, aren't field reports supposed to include some sort of closure? This post seems to be more of a rant.
