When I was younger I went to an extremely conservative christian church. These people believed the earth was literally 6000 years old, that climate change is fake, the whole nine yards. In my early 20s I decided God probably didn't exist and even if he did he didn't care if you went to church every Sunday so I stopped going. But my parents and most of my family continue to go, and I still keep in touch with many members of the church and drop them a line on facebook now and then and run into them and say hi occasionally.

Anyways, a few years ago I got messaged on facebook by this girl from church, Maisy. She was 23, and she started sending me flirtatious messages. She asked me what I was doing and I said I was watching some movie, and she was like wow I really want to see that. I jokingly told her to come over and watch it with me, I expected she would just laugh it off. But she came over, and we banged. The next day she texts me that she feels really guilty and she upset God and that she never wanted to see me again. So that was the end of that.

Earlier this year, I got invited to a wedding that would be happening at the church for this guy, Brad. Brad is two years younger than me, I've known him since he was a kid. I always disliked him, as a kid he was a giant crybaby and as he got older he had this prima-donna personality that made it very difficult to like him. But the wedding would be a chance to see many people I hadn't seen in a while so I went. I then realised the bride was actually Maisy. I hadn't made the connection earlier because the people who invited me told me Brad was marrying someone called Margaret and I knew her as Maisy. It was a nice wedding, most of the people there were church members, and everyone was so happy for the groom and bride.

Later on, we're sitting around talking, me, Brad, Maisy, and about 7 or 8 other people, and the conversation shifts toward marriage. People are saying things like (I'm paraphrasing here):
"Sinners will never know true marital happiness like us!" (church members use "sinner" to refer to all non-christians and even other christians who aren't as conservative as them)
"You have to marry within the church if you want your marriage to last!"
"Sinners all get divorced and cheat!"
"Sinners don't wait to have sex until marriage like we do!"

Meanwhile Brad is grinning like a cheshire cat. Then he declares "Women who don't go to church all have a dozen partners by the time they get married. Maisy is a virgin!" The second he said that, Maisy's head snapped toward me, and she just froze with this deer in the headlights look. I tried my best to maintain a neutral expression but I was laughing inside.

Later I thought about taking Brad aside and letting him know what happened between me and Maisy, but I decided against it for several reasons. First, I had no proof I smashed Maisy, if she denied it he'd probably believe her and I'd just look like an idiot. Second, I didn't like Brad much anyways, I didn't care if he married a slut. And most importantly, my parents and Brad's parents and Maisy's parents are all good friends who have known each other for many decades, if word got out what happened it might ruin things between them. So I said nothing. Now Brad's happy because he thinks he married a virgin, Maisy's happy because nobody found out, and everyone's parents are happy because two devout young christians got married.

But this got me thinking: There is really no such thing as a girl who is a prude. Even the most religious, conservative, prudish-seeming girl will slut it up if she thinks she can get away with it. And most of them do get away with it and nobody finds out.
