My husband tore my older sister to shreds (verbally) at a dinner party

The husband in this /r/relationships post is a prime example of holding frame in social situations:

He gets verbally attacked by another woman.

So this evening we had a nice little dinner party, and it was clear who my sister was targeting tonight; my husband and I. She started dropping little snide comments about the age difference, the fact that he supports me, etc.

But instead of enduring the shit she is giving him or getting overly angry and loud he stays calm and destroys her:

My husband can have absolute cold running through his veins when he wants too. It's like a light-switch he can flip at any time. He also has a talent for seeing through people; he sees who you are, not the mask. Everything my sister had ever felt on the inside, he yanked it out and put it in her face. Her weight issues, her relationship failures, it's like he had a bullet-pointed list behind his back.

She left the room and the house crying, my husband made a self-deprecating joke to everyone else, and everyone just acted like nothing had happened as they seemed to just want to get past the awkwardness of the situation.

This is what frame holding actually means: Not being phased by any shit life or other people throw at you. You have to be like the rock in the storm.

Also notice the age difference of 12 years.
