I've been around here since November thereabouts, and I felt moved by recent events to speak out about some things that I've seen around here. Thanks to recent events like the Elliot Rodger rampage, this subreddit is now, if not necessarily mainstream, famous. Anyone who is under 40 and spends any significant time on the internet has at least heard of the concept. Granted, much of it is misleading at best and mean spirited at worse, but as the saying goes, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

One thing I will say just hanging around here is the raw pain I see around here. I see the word "hate" being tossed around here, and I think it's inaccurate. While I can't see everyone typing in here, this isn't a bunch of broke and bitter White guys lashing out at everyone who is different around here. What gets posted here is the result of the pain of raw experience, of realizing that despite the Women are wonderful effect Women as a class are capable of horrible things. Not just a random woman, women are capable.

I know in my experience, I've dealt with emotional abuse from a former spouse who has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. (In fact, I help out with an online support group of those who are either in relationships or have been in relationships with someone with BPD.) I also had to deal with a lot of emotional abuse from my narcissistic mother. I don't want to break down details of other male family members, but suffice to say I somehow managed to avoid some of their abuse.

I also know just following the comments that many of the regulars have been subjected to abusive women: whether those are spouses, girlfriend, mothers, aunts, sisters and other assorted women in our lives. I can sense the pain, and it's real. I just want to post this over this holiday weekend to give the subscribers a chance to share their pain. Let's show each other and the world that our pain is real. This isn't because some girlfriend, say, didn't give us anal on our birthday. It's more like because our mom mistook our heads for a baseball perfect for and our significant others thought our wallets were their own personal ATM.

Anyone willing to share?
